Fielding had a belt a a weight class that Alvarez had never been champ at before. So easy pickings. Chavez Jr and Khan had a decent fanbase. Something Charlo doesn’t have. Those 3 guys brought something to the table that helped with “PPV” buys. And beefy, well I can’t defend that one other than a fill in fight. But then again all of Charlo and Andrades fight fall in that category

I agree all those were cherry picks. And so were Floyd’s. But you can’t say GGG was one. Not when he was considering to be the #1 P4P fighter in the world by most. At least top 3. So how can you cherry pick the #1 P4P fighter. Your really reaching here

I don't think ggg was a cherry pick but I only used your logic. I also don't think Cotto or jacobs was a cherry pick for Canelo. I do think, canelo waited ggg out until he was older and less of a threat. He was still dangerous but not as dangerous as he would've been had Canelo taken the fight after he beat Cotto instead of dropping his belt to avoid him.

Canelo is there true 160lb champion and did not loose his title.
They made a new thing kinda like when they made the diamond champion bull**** but the issue here is Canelo can't loose it so I do not totally understand how they are going to fix the overall standing.
But unified is just a name and a achievement.
Just as undisputed is.
If Canelo fights Andrade and wins he will then I guess he has to go back and fight GGG when GGG beats the breaks off the Ukraine or Russian Serhiy Derevianchenko. That would clearly make Canelo the undisputed regardless what anybody thinks. WBC will say the same thing.

Can’t believe Mauricio Sulaiman just tried to explain this? Let’s step behind the veil. Boxing fans already excuse a lot of mysterious BS around Canelo...

- Rigged decisions/ pocket judges
- Open Scoring
- catch weights
- fake weight classes
- slick fighter avoidance
- Gift titles at unearned weight classes against nobodies
- Cherry pics
- PEDS (failed drug test/ tainted meat mythology)

Why... because every now and then Canelo steps up and shows us how special he could have been with out his disgusting management team.

But the Franchise belt crossed the line. It was a complete confirmation of WBC privilege and fighter protection. The Franchise “keep Charlo off me forever belt,” destroyed any bit of perceived integrity for team Canelo or the WBC.

However this article shows the WBC also has a complete lack of appreciation for boxing fan intelligence. Who is he talking down to with this BS justification of Canelo’s entitlement?

Boxing on this level needs to just run under the moniker “fight entertainment.” Take it completely out of the actual sport and just let entertainment fighters do what they do. Fight their garbage fixed fights, avoiding the truest talent, with no risk, big money, delusional fans and unearned legacy.

The dumb loyal fight entertainment contingent can enjoy their hollow existence, false pride and rigged matches with the peace of not living the lie that all is fair and well earned.

Boxing purest can then have a sport full of true fighters who represent the proven best. They would be clean, of every culture, race and style. They would actually follow the historical guidelines of the sport in a fair and unbiased way.

The current hybrid is flimsy lie. Caitlynn letting us all know Bruce never existed. As this nonsense becomes even more common place, the fake fans and rigged champions can have what’s left of this putrid “pro boxing,” circus.

Life is getting more challenging for us all. However selling the whole boxing baby for money didn’t use to be the only option. Couldn’t boxing just leave us with one small illusion to believe in? One pure boxing child for real fans to care for?
