btw, if every fight Floyd had after Hatton was a cherry pick, then you're saying Canelo, mosley after he beat Margarito, Cotto after he beat Margarito, pac and maidana were cherry picks?? OK guy.

Same reason why Canelo gets criticized more than anyone. So you trying to say I should criticize Charlo and andrade the same way when they aren't the superstars who go around telling everyone they're the biggest thing in boxing is ******. Canelo wanted to follow Floyd, so now take the same heat. Especially when you're passing up the fight dates you begged for and passing up prime opposition while you're at it to face an old man. Say what you want about Floyd but he was almost always the older guy in the ring. Never the case with Canelo. He hasn't fought anyone good that's within 2 yrs of his age since trout in 2013.
Way to contradicted yourself. You say you want the best to fight the best. But know your flip the script and say Charlo or Andrade shouldn’t be criticized the same as Alvarez because they’re not superstars? Gtfoh If your a boxing fan it shouldn’t matter if your a superstar or not. You should be expected to fight the best if your a champion. Another thing. He took those dates. No one gave em to him. If that were the case why isn’t Charlo, Andrade or Lovkin fighting on those dates? One last thing. So now it’s Canelos fault for being born years later than these other guys? Fanboi, you make me laugh.

Yes they were. Nelo was super green and weight drained and everybody knows it. Mosley was past his prime. He beat a Margarito who without his loaded gloves was nothing. Maidana had already lost to khan and Alexander. Yes the same Kahn you give Alvarez **** about. And Pacquiao had just being knocked out by Marquez and past his prime. Cotto had already been brutally beaten and knocked out by Manny and don’t act like beating Margarito means anything. Also none were in their prime. So yeah. He strategically chose them based on the hype.

I'm saying they won't get criticized at the same level as Canelo, that's just a fact. Now it was Charlos responsibility to make himself Canelos mandatory and he did that. It's not his fault that the wbc set it up the way they did. But as a non super star, he doesn't have the same pull as Canelo. He can only make himself a mandatory to Canelos title, which he did. Yet Canelo chose to not go that route. For andrade, all he could do was get a belt to make it worthwhile, he did that and Canelo has passed him up too so far. Now you want to argue that they should enhance their resumes before Canelo can entertain a fight with them. Well, who the fk did fielding beat to earn that shot vs Canelo? Nobody, all he had was a paper title. Who did khan beat? He wasn't even a world champ in any weight class for 4 yrs when canelo fought him. Who did beefy Smith beat.. Ever... to earn that shot? Nobody, but he had a belt. Who did Chavez Jr beat? He had just quit a couple of fights before fighting Canelo. So don't give me this nonsense about what other fighters should do when fighters who have done less have been in the ring with Canelo. Now I would like to see Charlo vs Andrade, but why is Canelo getting a pass from you to look past all of the top talent at 160 and 168 in order to wait on a clearly past prime Kovalev??

OK fine, then I'll use your logic and say just about everyone Canelo has faced since Lara has been a cherry pick right? Kirkland who was already ko'd in 1 by Ishida, was off for a yr and not trained by Anne Wolfe, 36 yr old Cotto who you already said was a Floyd cherry pick yrs earlier and no where near his prime , khan who was ko'd brutally twice in much lighter weight classes, Smith who was a nobody, Chavez Jr who quit on his stool 2 fights earlier and embarrassed by Sergio yrs before and clearly weight drained, he waited ggg out until he was 35 and showed vulnerability, and then fielding who was a paper champion that had been ko'd in 1 by callum smith. So... We agree... All cherry picks right?

Wow, the Canelo protection squad seems to be dwindling, never thought I'd see the day. Must get exhausting living vicariously through a guy & doing non-stop metal gymnastics to excuse his diva *****. We're just down to the usual 3-4 losers that pollute all Canelo threads--bless your souls.

Franchise status isn't any different than Emeritus status then...

I can see the following being designated as such:
                    1. Wilder if he fights Fury in a rematch
                    2. GrandPac if he miraculously beat the winner of Spence-Porter
                    3. Loma if he fights Lopez
                    4. Juan Francisco Estrada if he fights Nietes or Ancajas
                    5. Thai TBE

All of them might also receive a weird belt...

Fielding had a belt a a weight class that Alvarez had never been champ at before. So easy pickings. Chavez Jr and Khan had a decent fanbase. Something Charlo doesn’t have. Those 3 guys brought something to the table that helped with “PPV” buys. And beefy, well I can’t defend that one other than a fill in fight. But then again all of Charlo and Andrades fight fall in that category
