All I know is Canelo is a great fighter, but he's also a Mayweather protegé in terms of cherry-picking. He's becoming a pest in his quest to float through divisions as if he were a demi-god.

The gall on this p^*ck. The stagnation at 175 has been frustrating those of us interested in seeing some great talent finally face each other - and in waltz's Alvarez like he's the architect of boxing itself.

Yarde is obviously jumping on the I'm tough as nails bandwagon only because his promoter blocked him from stepping aside.

However, going to Russia to fight a beloved icon he better not eat any beef and he better knock the krusher out, no way he's winning a decision.

This fight is intriguing because it's Yarde's first real test and I'm not sold that Kovalev has been remolded into the best version of himself yet - plus he's lost three fights, two by KO. (The Ward KO was a joke I know, but it still would've taken its toll on him).

Yarde only has 12 amateur fights which is why he has been moved slow. However, he has destroyed everybody he faced so us English fans have given him criticism for not stepping up, which is why he's not really rated by us. He has also ducked all the domestic competition.

However, Kovalev is a huge step up and if he wins or fights hard in a loss then he gets his respect.

I think he's got skills and a good team around him. He's going to give a good account if himself but on paper Kovalev should beat him easy.

If Yarde wins then we might have a special talent on our hands.
This claim that Tunde Ajay spent time in the Mayweather gym as some kind of qualification as a top trainer is bollocks.
Like I've said elsewhere - Roger Mayweather and Floyd Sr. were in boxing their whole lives. Roger was a respected world champion and Floyd Sr. a contender.

They had Floyd Jr. boxing in the yard since he was a toddler.
It's the years of experience that make them great trainers.
Just because Ajayi hung around their gym and tried to copy what they do, doesn't mean he can train fighters like them.

What has he ever done in boxing, as a fighter or trainer?
He doesn't even have Yarde sparring ffs. We know how important sparring is in the Mayweather gym.

Yarde is nowhere near the level of ward
Or Hopkins either - he was an ATG and had a very high ring IQ, regardless of age. Kovalev still battered Hopkins, floored him and was seconds away from stopping him at the final bell.

No one actually knows. He's just been fighting bums like any new fighter does for the first part of their career. He hits hard enough and boxes well enough. But looks like he would struggle when someone actually hits hard back.

A step up to Kovalev, especially in Russia is just a huge step and will be too much for him. I see him being stopped within 7 rounds.

I think Yarde will probably turn out to be a top 10 but not top 5 fighter but it's impossible to say given the opposition he has faced so far, Not sure if he has even done 12 rounds

This is how a fighter acts when he wants a fight. I couldn't stand the whole "GGG is avoided and wants to fight the best" when he took step aside money multiple times.

This Tunde guy probably hung out at the Mayweather gym and memorized their padwork.

If he and Yarde think that's going to be enough to go into Russia and knock off Kovalev then they got another thing coming.

Their only hope is that Kovalev is on the drink or distracted by his recent outside-the-ring shenanigans.

Who isn't a believable champ in the UK? And who does he have more balls than? You do know Yarde hasn't fought even British title level yet, let alone world level.

Sorry, but you're talking bollocks like you always do.

Compared to Kovalev, he might be faster and he is fresher by a mile. My only concern is him on the road. Somebody else told all the dirty tricks, like tooting horns to break his sleep, but that's the road.
No fighter really likes getting hit. But how have you come to this opinion?
