According to reports though the fight didnt get stuck over money, it got stuck over venue.

Canelo wanted Vegas and GGG did not. So it was never about the money.

GGG is already set for like and made an easy 15 against Rolls. He could fight anyone not named Canelo but wanted Canelo. DAZN also wanted that fight which is why they signed GGG.

I've mentioned numerous times, not even just boxers, but how many athletes in general perform at a high-level at 35+ years old? The overwhelming majority are either retired, or are performing at a much lower level than in their earlier days. Sure, there are cases here and there but that is such a small minority in the sports world, never mind contact sports, boxing specifically. These guys act like Golovkin should still be prime at that age, for some reason. "He's never been in any wars," is usually what they'll say or of course fighting cans or bums. They don't take into account the 20+ years of running, exercising, sparring, strength and conditioning, thousands upon thousands of punches thrown, all the amateur and professional fights etc. It was no surprise that we started to see a noticeable decline in 2016 when, shocker, he was 34. Canelo/GBP knew what they were doing by waiting him out. Golovkin at 33 years old and younger was a much different fighter than the one we've seen 34+. And looking back now, I think Sanchez did more harm than good.

Check the history here on these boards. A lot of GGG fans were saying GGG got off to a late start, takes care of himself, and can wait to fight Canelo and still win.
Literally the moment Canelo brought GGG out to announce the fight after he beat Chavez Jr. it flipped. Then went even further after the first fight and GGG didn’t walk through canelo and KO him. Go through the history on this board, the receipts are there.

DAZN signed Canelo to bring in subscriptions but please. Canelo can be called the face of boxing all he wants but nobody knows who he is. I'm a boxing fan and when I started seeing those pathetic DAZN commercials where Canelo couldnt even speak a lick of english I didnt even know who he was until the got close and I was like oh, that's Canelo.

They could have replaced him with any rag tag boxer and I as a fan wouldnt have known the difference.

Canelo vs #3MW Danny Jacob's only did 1.2 million views WORLD WIDE which I dont even know if you can call that a success considering more people tune into ESPN to watch someone like Lomachenko who is averaging 1.5-2 million views.
