GGG Avoided Derevyanchenko on 5/5

Tom Loeffler, Golovkin’s promoter, told BoxingScene.com for a story posted Friday that, “Derevyanchenko wasn’t up to fighting May 5.”

DiBella and Connolly contend that is the furthest thing from the truth.

“That’s a complete lie,” DiBella told BoxingScene.com. “Sergiy was available the whole way. Tom knows that.”

Derevyanchenko’s team made it clear publicly after the suspended Alvarez withdrew April 3 that Derevyanchenko was willing to take that difficult fight against Golovkin on short notice. DiBella, Connolly, Derevyanchenko and an attorney representing the undefeated contender will attend Tuesday’s hearing, as will Golovkin, Loeffler and an attorney for Golovkin.

“As far as Loeffler coming out and saying recently Sergiy wasn’t ready to fight May 5, so it really didn’t push him back, that’s a flat-out lie,” Connolly told BoxingScene.com. “Tom knows damn well Sergiy was ready and willing to fight Golovkin on May 5th. We publicly said we were willing to fight May 5th. There are also several letters that were sent to Tom and the IBF, stating we were ready to take the fight on that date.

“The truth is they negotiated with several other fighters, but never even offered $1 for us to fight Triple-G on that date. They clearly avoided Sergiy and they know it. We are looking forward to Tuesday’s hearing and the IBF upholding the decision that Golovkin has to fight Sergiy next.”

Dude I don't really listen to anything you have to say boxing-analysis wise...no offense though...you are a good fan in the sense that you have a lot of passion for the sport, but as far as making sense goes, you are lacking my buddy ...still love ya though.

I said I never saw Dervy say he wanted to fight on May 5th...do you have any evidence of him saying that? Not his team, who is probably angling for something...I'm saying Dervy directly.

and if G does fight Derevy, it will prove what I have ALWAYS said..... that Golovkin's (timid) matchmaking has been based on the following facts.....

FACT: boxing is all about matchmaking

FACT: matchmaking is all about style

FACT: if G can land on you, then he WILL break you down..... because nobody can absorb that level of punishment

FACT: they have avoided mover/spoilers like the plague..... NEVER facing one, despite having MANY opportunities.....

1) most of those opportunities were absolute obvious no-brainers

2) ALL of the guys that Golovkin avoided were better than anyone on his (timid) resume

3) most of the excuses that they gave to pass on those fights were absurd, and are WELL-documented

Golovkin has avoided mover/spoilers and master-boxers like the plague..... focusing mainly on lower-level "tough-guy" type opponents who will be "available" throughout the fight

rinse... wash... repeat

The usual bla, but the fact is that GGG has already beat Jacobs who comfortably beat Dervy. Dervy is simply not on GGG's level, why would he be afraid to fight him? That is the question you need to answer.
