A new line gets established usually the ring and so called Lineal title in the modern times go hand in hand, if the top 2 fight each other.

But Wlad never fought Vitali or got the WBC to create new line. Although ring still gave it him as they did Vitali v Sanders (1v3)which makes things blurry.

Add to that that Fury had anabolic steroids and coke in system , this is the real reason he was out the ring for years= title gone

How anyone can dispute that is strange, even ring stripped him

The top two that fought which bases your posts points was Wlad and AJ ,which actually makes Ruiz the lineal because when Fury fell off it went back to Wlad . that's the way lineal always was it goes back to the fighter who lost it and Aj took it off Klitschko .

King Fury fights whoever he wants, deal with it.
fury won’t fight live dogs in case he gets knocked out.....Swartz and now this swedish muffin.......it’s not good and it’s bum of the month for fury now....all wilder has to do is throw more punches to get the win....and fury will be snoring for over 10 seconds.
I do not see any way that fury can win the rematch....he was out cold last time and he is gonna be out cold longer this time.
As for joshua he is fighting decent well schooled challengers fury ain’t and when that happens you can get beat.
Fury is a joke who is scared ****less he will get KO Ed and that’s why it’s can central now for him.
It’s an embarrassing look for fury with these euro muffins

No lineal champion has done what Fury has done in the 134 year history of the heavyweight lineage (drug ban, tune ups with easy opponents after hiatus), but that doesn't change the fact that he's the man who beat the man and he has yet to be defeated. It's a shame he refuses to fight the best of the division, but after the Wilder fight, he's only as good as Tom Schwarz and Otto Wallin...

The lineal title is the most important.

The problem is, Fury's claim to it is bogus because he retired multiple times.

Pacquiao retired for only 7 months. Prior to the retirement he was considered lineal champion, but the retirement ended it. Nobody considered him lineal champion against Jeff Horn, nobody considered Horn lineal for 'beating" Pac, and nobody considers Crawford lineal for beating Horn.

                The same applies to Fury.

The lineal title is vacant until #1 fights #2. So it's either the Wilder vs Fury rematch or the winner of that fight versus the winner of Joshua vs Ruiz II that will be considered the lineal champion.

Because he retired multiple times and missed almost 3 years of action.

If you retire, you vacate the title. Klitschko himself won the vacant lineal title by beating Sultan Ibragimov; the championship had been vacant since the retirement of Lennox Lewis. Then Fury won it, then he vacated it by retiring.

There is no lineal heavyweight champion right now. It doesn't matter that Fury is back.

We have to see how the dust settles after Wilder vs Ortiz II, Wilder vs Fury II, and Joshua vs Ruiz II. It depends on the rankings.

strange words since wilder only fought fury because of that invisible title. wasn't because he was a star because he was fighting on undercards. wasn't his ranking as he was ranked #7 by ring and #8 by trans tnbr. imagine if he had beat fury how he would be saying he was lineal champ right now. mind bobbling

Most weight classes are murky as hell with regard to lineage (thanks to the proliferation of sanctioning bodies and titles) and most lines go back only a few years/fighters. Despite this fact, there are apparently legions of supposedly knowledgeable boxing fans who genuinely believe the lineal title is a real thing.
And nobody cares about any lineal champion outside of Tyson.......
