This is probably the most reasonable defense of the HW lineal title. It's all in Fury's mushy head.

      I've never took lineal seriously.

Yeah, no one could deny the legitimacy of a lineal champion if one existed.

Yes its the equivalent of winning 4 rounds, i.e +4 points

But unlike winning 4 rounds, there would be 10 rounds left, not 8.

If Wilder was scored 2 other close rounds, he still loses. If you scored him 3 other rounds, plus the two rounds he scored knockdowns in, its a draw.

But really, please provided a breakdown of which 3 other rounds you though Wilder won. If you can't, the assumption is that Wilder lost and was gifted the draw, because that's what literally everyone else thinks

I love how people on this site do this. They try so hard to be snide and superior that they look ridiculous.

You basically tried to make it seem like what I was saying was soooo out of pocket and foolish yet you really didn't disagree. I said Wilder needed 2-3 rounds and your counter was NO SIR THAT IS SOOOOO ILLOGICAL. He didn't need 2-3 rounds. HE NEEDED 3!

Boy is my face RED!!! You sure told ME!!

          WOW!!

Anyway to counter your argument I will do as you said.

if you check the score cards of many pros and analysis they gave the 2nd round to Wilder. So that's one.

Although he did a lot of dancing and showboating in round Fury did NOT land a lot of punches either so some people were saying that could have gone either way.

So that could be 2. Now since this is completely SUBJECTIVE you actually helped my point by stating their was actually 10 rounds left instead of 8.

If Wilder won the 2nd and the first was close then that means he just needed to steal 1 round out of the remaining 8 to get a draw.

Is that truly that hard to fathom that a boxer can STEAL one round out of 8 when HE IS THE CHAMPION!!

Like I said you guys make it seem like it was such a robbery but the ACTUAL numbers DO NOT SUPPORT your opinions!!

          oh by the way

ESPN.com scored it 114-112 for Wilder, who retained his belt for the eighth time. Fury retained the lineal championship in his first defense.

          THESE ARE FACTS!!!!

Oh but to answer your question....

Rounds 1,2 and 4 were close enough that they could have gone to Wilder and that would have been enough for him to walk away with the draw even with Fury winning more rounds!!!!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP SIR!!!

This whole argument is dumb, hell the conversation is dumb af. You can't be critiquing Whyte, Miller, or anyone else if Fury was practically being accused of the same thing. Fury is a great fighter but c'mon people are acting like his time away from the sport had nothing to do with an investigation into PED's as well.

It is ****** for Wilder because Wilder does not possess that title. Simple as that.

There is no lineal title. The lineage has been broken too many times. It’s made up. The goal should be for undisputed.

yeah but since beat Wlad Fury tested positive for nandralone and *******, and was even stripped by ring and hasn't fought in years,

At some point he loses his title.

I mean dudes are talking about lineal champion for a dude who not only got stripped of all of his titles but would've virtually had at least one fight result turned into a NC based on that investigation.
