If Jones was able to dodge Ruiz for an entire 12 rounds, I think he'd run circles around this fatass and easily win a unanimous decision. This fight would be hilarious to watch though. No, the fact that Corrie was dangerous does not mean Roy has 'everything' to prove. He needed at least a belt. Everything Roy said was true. No point in fighting him for nothing. People ridiculed Viali when he beat Sanders, as if Sanders was nobody. What would stop these same people from belittling Roy had he beat Corrie? Not a damn thing.

i was just ready to post something but you said it. roy wanted a title. why go after a guy that has a head above you and weights that much with out getting a title. he moved down to fight tarver bc they were his titles. not tarvers. he proved it. personally i dont think tarver deserved a rematch. when tarver had to take the fight to roy he couldnt do it. he was just backing down everytime roy came in. but i think roy would have beaten sanders. he was slow and had no stamina. roy would have maybe KOed him on just tiring him out alone.

Oh I know for a fact Roy was scared of the heavyweights, which is why he went back down. But he would still win an easy easy decision over Sanders.

It saddens me that we now accept that people need "title belts" in order to be viable opponents... particularly when the opponents in question are also acknowledged as being "dangerous".

I can't believe what I'm reading sometimes, I really can't. Imagine Marciano saying "I'm not fighting him, he might beat me." Wouldn't happen, would it?
