The better argument about the validity of the pac vs Margarito fight isn't the catch weight, it's the fact that the wbc was corrupt and money hungry in giving pac an opponent who wasn't deserving of a title shot. How often have 2 fighters from one division been granted a title **** against one another in a new weight class when neither accomplished anything at all in that new division? Now pac was an elite welterweight at the time, so him moving up and being granted a title shot is nothing new, but to give him that shot vs another welterweight who was coming off a ko, a year long suspension for cheating, and then beat 1 nobody doesn't make any sense. There were plenty of other top fighters at 154 that were more deserving of that opportunity. That was typical wbc corruption.

Thanks Breadman, for keeping Jaron Ennis' name alive! We are really missing out on seeing a great talent! I hate that his career is on pause right now! He was on track to be fighting Spence or Crawford in 2020! I think he could come off the couch and beat Shawn Porter or Keith Thurman! Keep an eye on Chris Colbert too! I think he's just as talented Shakur Stevenson! I also think Subriel Matias is not getting enough love! Browny is a MONSTER! I hope he keeps his mind right! Pay respects to the family, and then get back in the gym! PR needs you!

My sentiment exactly. To me that division title comes with an asterisk. I actually was disappointed while reading Breads response.

Floyd Mayweather isn’t one of the 20 best that ever lived. Sam Langford, Joe Gans, and Henry Armstrong are rolling over in their graves.

If I'm not mistaken, Margarito weighed in at 153 pounds while Pacquiao weighed in at 148 pounds.

Dougie of ****** and Breadman here in Boxingscene are good mailbags. The only thing better about Bread is that he answer multiple letters and gives great insights too while Doug seems to answer just 3-5 short emails. Not enough for fans who wanted to hear great opinions from the queries and emails of numbers of letter senders.

Pls post the letter sender's emails. It took them minutes and even hours to think of the best words to ask so it is also good that someone like Bread posts and answers it.

I promise you all that the comment about Pacquiao not being a legit eight division champion were from that momma’s boy Drew Bundini

Great mailbag as usual, don’t agree on all points with bread but most of it resonates well.

However the whole Floyd being an opportunist thing is flimsy and falls on two fighters one promoter...

Manny who we now know through Roaches admission Arum was at fault for not making the fight in 2011.

And Margarito who Arum used as a marketing boogie man when Floyd bought out of that slave contract. Floyd would have destroyed Margarito. He is tailor made for a slick boxer, leaving home the bricks.

The only real boogie man was Paul Williams. That fight should have happened and his length and work rate would have made an interesting fight for Floyd.

Other than that who didn’t Floyd fight? The fans picked most his opposition and they downgraded him after. They were always coming off their best fights. And what people don’t admit is Floyd was a violent animal like Crawford until his hands kept breaking.

Just like Jordan he adapted his game and just fought smarter. That is history defining.

Wish Bread would throw out that top fighter line, after 10 years of mail bags it feels kind of floaty and based on recent performances.
