Don't need those joke belts, I mean they gave one Charlo a Haymon clown who never even beat a legit top 10 MW. These sanctioning bodies only care about money, fact is Canelo as the face of boxing doesn't need them to make plenty of it. These kids can celebrate it or cry about decisions all they want doesn't change the fact Canelo is a proven champion with one of the best resumes in boxing.

If this is true Canelo needs to sue his way outta that deal & of course as per usual Oscar is an idiot. Idk how or why Canelo re-signed with him post-him doing more butt stuff with kitchen utensils. The crux of the ongoing Alvarez ordeal swings on De La Hoya’s promise, in a signed contract between Golden Boy and DAZN, that Alvarez would fight Golovkin in September — on the Mexican Independence Day weekend that has routinely generated wide national boxing viewership.

Yet, De La Hoya was reportedly lax in allowing Golden Boy’s deal with Alvarez to slide without inserting such binding (and perhaps confrontational) language that also ordered a September fight with Golovkin, creating a conundrum exacerbated by Alvarez’s rivalry and deep disdain for Golovkin after their 2017 draw, Golovkin’s shredding of Alvarez over two failed drug tests and Alvarez’s narrow 2018 victory by majority decision.

Even though Alvarez and DAZN Executive Chairman John Skipper maintain friendly communication, Alvarez, by denying a Golovkin fight, let De La Hoya twist nakedly in the wind in front of DAZN and compromised what Skipper maintains should operate as a “relationship … of trust.”

But Alvarez was miffed not just at Golovkin. He’s fumed at De La Hoya and Golden Boy President Eric Gomez for promising the Golovkin fight to DAZN, and he was chafed after learning from a report that DAZN had agreed in its deal with Golden Boy to pay De La Hoya’s company around $90 million over five years for the rights to broadcast 10 other non-Canelo Golden Boy fight cards per year.

Negotiating with DiBella, while Derevyanchenko managers Keith Connolly and Al Haymon monitored, Golden Boy’s Robert Diaz offered $5.5 million for the bout, according to an industry source unauthorized to discuss financial terms publicly.

Derevyanchenko is negotiating toward an Oct. 5 title fight against former IBF champion Golovkin on DAZN at Madison Square Garden. He’s positioned to earn at or near the $7 million De La Hoya rebuffed.

“Canelo has been our rainmaker to date, and he’s been a pleasure to work with,” Skipper told The Athletic on Friday. “The two fights we’ve done with Canelo have generated a dramatic number of subscribers — I can say that the majority of our subs have come from the Canelo fights. We want, of course, for Canelo to be involved in bouts that have enormous public interest, and we believe the Andrade bout qualifies as that.”

“But we and Golden Boy and Canelo and Golovkin are all in this together, and we’ve all got to come to an agreement about date and time and venue and circumstances.”

How the hell did GBP or Oscar in particular guarantee a GGG trilogy without actually telling Canelo. And DAZN supposedly got it in writing??

Now, Canelo is upset that GBP got the deal from DAZN off his back. Does he want some of the 90M that GBP has for the other 10 GBP cards or something?

So Derevynachenko got offered 5.5M for Canelo yet DAZN will be willing to pay him around 7M for GGG? Huh? I knew something was up yesterday with how quickly GGG/Derevyanchenko seemed to get the deal done... I mean we found out its not done yet but it should be soon.

Last statement from Skipper is what this is all about. DAZN just desperately wants to get the trilogy fight set and in motion. They know they f'd up big time if they can't get that fight done. GGG isn't a sub driver as Skipper actually FLAT out said in this article that majority of the subs from DAZN have come off the back of the two Canelo fights.

Really could be at this point that Canelo really doesn't need GBP anymore. He's THAT dude and wants to make his own decisions. Will still need some sort of manager or something to handle the negotiations but this is probably heading towards a split if the contract allows an out for Canelo.

More than anything, Skipper flat out came and said majority of our subscriptions have come from the two Canelo fights....Which we already knew and the article written stating DAZN had 1.2M subscribers was likely wrong...Actually more than likely but still.

But poor Canelo is getting screwed here where promises on his behalf are being made without him consent.

Also, Pugmire stating that Derevyanchenko will end up getting the 7M he wanted or close to it vs GGG. Something just didn't seem right to me yesterday and it's wrong that he would get more for the GGG showdown.
