Exposed a few things, power, controlling the range, mental fortitude, etc.
His power didn't just disappear and he KOd some guys who aren't known to have weak chins. Mental fortitude was a plus in that fight because he held it together even though things weren't going the way they thought it would. As for range, I'd say he definitely got a fight for the memory bank regarding controlling range versus a longer skilled fighter. IMO that actually would work against Campbell though because it wouldn't be a surprise to him now.

I'm just hesitant to throw the exposed phrasing out there when so little is known about the opponent going into the fight.

While that’s fair, especially since “exposed” is a term that’s thrown around a hell of a lot. I rarely use it though.

Time will tell, but I stand by the original statement that Nakatami was chosen for Lopez for a reason. He was deemed an easier fight than Abdullaev.

Its just ignorance unfortunately, Campbell is a very respectable opponent. Loma will be favored heavily and rightly so but some people are really underestimating Campbell by calling him a C level opponent

They’re the same people who have Linares as a bum since he lost to Loma. Revisionist history though, since Mikey ran from Linares.

When was Abdullaev an option. Wasn't he trying to get Luke Campbell until Campbell finally signed to fight Loma?

Nakatami was definitely chosen for a reason....that reason only Top Rank matchmakers know for sure. Either way...fights like that one are what talents like Lopez need to get seasoned.

A tournament was originally pitched to unify the division. Lopez refused and got Nakatami. Haney is fighting Abdullaev instead

Are you pointing out the exception as an argument that this is a rule?

30 day out weights can be deceiving if one guy is having to dehydrate and the other is just coming as he is.

I wouldn't think that any of the top 135 guys would jump into a tourney. To much money floating around at 135 with ESPN and DAZN.

Yeah, basically four guys were all vying for the Loma fight. So basically it was going to be Lopez, Haney, Abdullaev Campbell, (they’re 1-4 ranked WBC) for the wbc title while Loma fought Commey. Lopez refused and went the easier route to face Nakamura with the winner facing Commey.

And now Lopez doesn’t even want to face Commey.
