And now Lopez doesn’t even want to face Commey.
So Top Rank and Lopez decided that Nakatami was an eliminator fight?

Also I saw no correlation between the tourney and Lopez vs Commey or Nakatami. Tourney sounded like a great idea for the fans but which 135 guy was jumping at the idea when Campbell could go straight to a title shot and money, Haney is in line for DAZN money, and Lopez has a clear path to Loma and ESPN money along the way.

Campbell couldn’t have just gone to a title shot on his own. Belt was vacant, and wbc was on board. Nakatani wasn’t involved in the tournament, he was ranked #3 by the IBF. Lopez turned down the wbc route and him vs nakatani was made into a final eliminator.

What WBC route did Lopez turn down? Mikey vacated, Campbell was top rated, Bob petitioned for Loma to get the shot and the WBC said yes.

Further...there was no #1 or #2 in the IBF. Nakatima was 3 and Lopez 4, thus final eliminator for mando spot. I'm not sure what path to a title included Abdullaev. Haney was still there at 2 in the WBC. Thus Haney and Abdullaev fighting for the mando spot to the Loma Campbell winner.
