having multiple titles prevents them from having to do the HARD work that is required to climb a single ladder..... let's call it what it is

having multiple titles lowered the standards within boxing

And no more creating additional weight classes either.

If you want one belt, then just make an Undisputed Belt.

That would be the true champion belt that really matters.

Yeah man if I were a pro boxer rn and I wanted legacy, I'd gun to be TBRB champ. That's a hell of a title to achieve, you truly are the top of the pile if you've got that and should be in position to be regarded as one of the better champs ever (at the very least) in that division.

In a perfect World there’d only be 1 strap and I’m in the minority but The way this dumpster fire of a business masquerading as a sport is set up , I don’t have a problem with Multiple straps. Boxing is World wide having it under 1 umbrella is almost impossible to don

For the most part the guys that get the straps are among the top in their division, it keeps the sport moving. The way the cough cough Sport is Set Up if there was only 1 strap . Promoters wouldn’t give fighters aligned with other promoters their chance, If the Champ gets injured or doesn’t want to fight frequently the Mando might not get a chance for years at which point they could be out their prime. Certain fighters who are deemed too talented ,too much of a risk or with small promoters would be blackballed or wouldn’t be able to climb the ratings and never given a chance. Boxing is too much of a circus to have 1 strap and expect it to be all good.

The biggest problem is these sanctioning organizations need to step their game up because they don’t even try and hide their favouritism / corruption anymore and just make the sport look like a complete joke.
WBA now has 9 champs per division/ WBC makes up Franchise belts / WBO looks like a slave to Warren / Arum and the IBF sticks to their rules that it becomes a detriment to their organization and the sport. If they actually tried to be a legitimate en****** it might actually bring respectability to the sport

At the very least, there should be less belts than there are now, not necessarily one.

If I had my way it'd be one belt with a hardline organization that requires the champion to defend 2-3 times a year against then ranked #1. Everyone else can jockey around in the top 10 rankings.

Sounds nice doesn't it? But we all know mother***ers would hold it hostage for years.

Just like that Indonesian cat that never left his country, Chris John.

The line would go out the door, around the corner and 15 years later, you get your shot.
