I don't see how they couldn't

if you Baldi is overated then AS OF LATE.....Floyd has been overated.Originally posted by gerardofprI know both can beat Baldi convincingly! I think Baldi is overrated, he beat a Zab and Gatti ghost and all of a sudden is an elite fighter? Both Hatton and Cotto, throw hard combos and would destroy him.Comment

Floyd's where he's at not because he beat Gatti and Judah, but all the fighters before them. And as a matter of fact, his level of comp sucks!Originally posted by charlie31if you Baldi is overated then AS OF LATE.....Floyd has been overated.Comment

Honestly, the merit behind Ricky Hatton has nothing to do with his speed, or skills but his heart and the pressure he applies. Nothing that I saw when Baldomir fought Gatti showed me that Baldomir is allergic to pressure. Gatti is a brawler in every sense of the word, who applied pressure somewhat like that of Hatton- but if anything Gatti can handle himself better, at least up to this point, at 147. So, how would Hatton win? Did you see how Collazo hurt him? Baldomir would just keep slugging, keeping hitting. When a hole was there he would eventually punch through it. Baldomir is great at nothing but decent at most things. I don't see Hatton, with his small size, hurting the larger man- rather I see Baldomir hurting Hatton. I would say Baldomir TKO 10.
Cotto, on the other hand, is a larger man. He boxes better. He has speed and defense and can survive on formulas other than pressure, pressure, pressure. I would be entertained by a Cotto-Baldomir fight...Cotto has a real chance of beating him...but there are always su****ions about Cotto's chin..so...only time would tell.
Ricky loses to Baldy.
Baldy may or may not beat Cotto.Comment

When Baldi fought Zab and Gatti both of them were throwing one or two punch combos, on the other hand, Hatton is a pocket fighter, he gets inside and works the body throwing hard 4 and 5 punch combos. Baldi is not a slick fighter as Collazo is, I think Hatton got tired of chasing after Collazo and that's the reason he got outboxed and eventually rocked. Baldi is gonna come straight at him and Hatton is gonna be happy to trade with him. Did you notice on the Gatti fight how open Baldi's body was? I couldn't believe Gatti wasn't throwing the left hook to the body he hit Dorin with. Hatton will, and I see a different outcome in this fight than in Gatti's.Originally posted by Njord777Honestly, the merit behind Ricky Hatton has nothing to do with his speed, or skills but his heart and the pressure he applies. Hatton tends to get into brawls with guys that he should blow away. Look at the Maussa fight which should've been fairly easy but became a battle due to Hatton's style. I believe that without his size and and HUGE power advantage that he will have a difficult task in beating Baldomir who has show to have a pretty good beard as of late. But Hatton has great work rate and a good body attack, I just dont see it being a cake walk.Originally posted by gerardofprWhen Baldi fought Zab and Gatti both of them were throwing one or two punch combos, on the other hand, Hatton is a pocket fighter, he gets inside and works the body throwing hard 4 and 5 punch combos. I think that Cotto has a bit more diversity in his style. Look at how he dispersed of Maussa in relation to how Hatton beat him. If you look at his earlier fights you can see that he boxes pretty well and can be a boxer puncher. He also counters very well and like Hatton works the body well. I dont know how well his power will carry to 147lbs but I would think that his combinations will return to old form. He seemed to plod a bit in his last couple of fights.
I think they can both beat Baldomir but I think can do it more convincingly.Comment
