Could Hatton or Cotto beat Baldomir?

Forget Floyd for a moment, since it is clear that almost no one would pick Baldy against him. If Baldomir fights Hatton or Cotto next will he win? I'd like to see one of these younger guys take him out, but I've also come to respect the champ so I'm not sure right now.

Hatton would lose to Baldy since he cannot box to save his life. Cotto, on the other hand, would have a better chance since he can box and move out of the way, not to mention he has a defense which Hatton severely lacks.

Cotto has a much better chance to beat him, if he elects not to trade punches too much and out box him.

Hatton is not a great boxer or counterpuncher IMHO. Baldo is too big for hatton to wrestle and also has a iron chin. His only chance will be to attack the body but he would get tagged in doing so. Baldo likely hits harder than collazo, so he will be able to hurt hatton and stop him late. Baldo by KO.

Hatton doesn't carry his power to 147 we saw that on the Collazo fight, that clinching style wouldn't work against a stronger guy, Baldi. Hatton needs to go back down to 140 and dominate. As far as Cotto, different story there, this is a guy who hasn't been able to drink WATER nor EAT way before weight ins, you know weak you get from that? and still comes back next day, and breaks wherever he catches you, plus has good box skills. Having said that, Baldi's the bigger man, so it should be interesting.

Good question. Hatton if he fights like he fought Tszyu (getting in the inside, getting his punches off, and then grabbing) he might have a chance to win by decision. Even though I am a big Cotto fan this will be a very DIFFICULT fight for him. Unless he hurts Baldy with his body attack it is hard to see Cotto getting a KO. He might win by decision if he boxes all night, but knowing Cotto, there will be times he will stand toe to toe with Baldy.

              IMO, no.

              Neither of them could.

Cotto will have to counter and land the harder shots, while Hatton would have to smother him, because he has a damn long reach for a welter.

I think Baldy will be too much for Hatton. Hatton's atyle will probably help Baldomir. I still think Cotto will be a monster at this weight. Unlike Gatti his power will easily carry over to this weight and maybe be better. IMO Hatton should go back down to 140 where he would dominate. Its like hes trying to prove something to FLoyd.
