And lets not talk bs about smaller fighters, Gatti came in as a middleweight in ever fight, he fought fighters who were picked perfect to accomidate somone like Gatti.

Gatti never fought dangerous jr. welterweight contenders, he could have fought Antonio Diaz, Omar Wise, Cory Spink, Ahmed Santos and others. Gatti could have gotten a title shot at Tszyu but he rather wait for a vacant title rather then face Tszyu. Gatti fought hand picked oppoents.

I did not read any of the other posts so what i am about to say may have already been addressed but I wanted to make my peace.

So i will start off by directing my reply to the thread starter by quoting dane cook by saying - "are you out of ur ****ing mind?!?!" U sound like a child when u say **** like that. Gatti centainly no bum, u dont make millions of dollars by beeing a bum. You question Gatti's skills and his wins and losses column but you can not question the mans heart and add it too the fact he has nver ducked any opponet which lots of fighter today r doin.

Couple that with numerous fights of the years and one of the thee most historic boxing trilogies of all time, with wins over Tracy Harris Patterson (twice), Gabe Ruelas, Terron Millet, Lenard Dorin, Jesse James Leija and two world titles to boot, that not the definetion of a bum.

Is it hall of fame material? I dunno it is not for us to decide. What i do know is the HOF is not that hard to get into, so time will tell.

Also Gatti is one of the few fighters that trancend the sport of boxing, when Gatti fights the whole sporting world is on notice, it doesnt matter if he wins or loses.

He is definetly gone which he will be wil never be no one quite like him, even if you do not respect the attention Gatti gets b/c u think he lacks in the skill dept which is myopic there will nver be another Arturo Gatti and you will miss him, ... I already do

Antonio Diaz fought Micky Ward, and he didn't have a life and death strugle with Micky Ward. Ward landed his famous left hooks that hes known for, they didn't faze Diaz and Diaz won. And funny enough its Ward who got a big money fight with Gatti.

I know he gave Mosley trouble, i still haven't see his fight with Margarito, and Margarito is the best welterweight so their is no shame their.

Gatti lost to pillow punching Robinson, lol! And Robinson is no where near Mosley or Margarito. When Gatti fought him, Robinson was supposed to be a safe fight since Robinson didn't carry a punch, but he almost had Gatti in la, la land.

Two lower quality fighters who are evenly matched and don't mind taking a punch, go to your local boxing shows and see another Gatti or Miky Ward fighting off tv.
