    Getting back to the issue.
Why can't we demand to see what's actually in the contract re re-match.
    Aren't such contracts publicly viewable.
Are any of the boxing reporters any good?

I wonder where was the rematch signed, and can it be contested, as it should. Doesn’t the unified champion have any say on where he will defend his titles. That’s what money & lawyers are for.

As for the rematch, let's face it - if Ruiz truly doesn't want to fight in the UK he's not going to have to do so. Even if Joshua can dictate the place, Ruiz can always use some other negotiation point to make the whole deal go sideways - ring size, gloves, judges, drug testing rules, payment split, when the funds are distributed, promotional contracts, venue, etc. - there's always something that he can (legally) use to not come to an agreement with Joshua and not have to say it was just due to the location.

It's not nearly as clear-cut as everyone wants to say it is. Contract law rarely is. I don't know who will give in first but both sides have leverage.
If it was as easy as that to get out of a rematch clause with an A side fighter, there would be no point having them!

Matchroom/AJ/DAZN will be using the best contract lawyers money can hire, people who are specialists in drawing up fight contracts, with years of experience in the field.

If Ruiz refuses to honour his contract he won't be able to defend his titles or even keep his fee for the first fight until the whole business has been settled in court, and it would very likely go against him, leaving him with no titles, no purse, and a huge legal bill to pay.

SO much trouble because A-Side doesn't want to be honorable.

well then maybe it makes sense.
Ruiz/Haymon know they will be forced to take rematch in UK where Ruiz will get screwed.
They're going public to try to prevent getting screwed.

As I wrote above, Ruiz will still get screwed by ref and judges.

Hearn says he is confident that Andy will honour his contract. All the shit in this thread is almost certainly based on nothing.

I'm hoping A-Side is more of a man than his fans are.

WOW, 18 pages in and still going strong. The haters know damn well who is in control of the terms of the rematch and its driving them crazy.

what drives people crazy is knowing that a corrupt thing is in the works and wanting to prevent it, but cannot because it's so totally controlled and corrupt.
