That doesn't matter. What happened, happened. People don't change overnight, they don't change annually either.
You seem to be tied up in non purist logistics, ill see my way outComment

I think in some cases, when a trainer change is involved in the overhaul, we can say, yeah - it was before X. Good examples of this are Klitschko before losing to Brewster, and after he got with Steward. Now that's a difference worth mentioning in an argument.
Either way, I'd imagine Thurman will get a kick outta the thread, as it compares him to Canelo in a regard since the pollers have him neck and neck with Canelo. He probably needs a smile about now, someone should send him the link.
I think the Canelo Floyd beat, would've beat Golovkin. My respect for Canelo really emerged when I saw GGG smiling back at him after Canelo missed the huge counter cross. Guy like GGG respecting you, that's something. I rate GGG pretty high BJS beats him thoughComment

Whale boy, Thurman wasn't prime and Money shut out Canelo. Canelo did nothing in that fight. Thurman won rounds against Pacquiao.Comment

Glad to see the Joshua-Wilder marination got popped.Because some people never moved on from 2009. Despite the fight already happening 4 years ago, both sides still seem to have a deep resentment for each other. These discussions will go on far after both retire, because deep down we all know that what we got was little more than an empty shell of what the fight could have been in 09-10. This is why every time I hear the word marination in boxing,I get sick to my damn stomach.Comment

A young Canelo would have no chance against a faster younger GGG then .He barely does now and Canelo is much stronger now. I don't believe Canelo won/tied both fights I had GGG winning one. Its my opinion defeating Thurman now at 40 is more accomplishment then a very seasoned Mayweather defeating a smaller Canelo still wet behind the ears.I think in some cases, when a trainer change is involved in the overhaul, we can say, yeah - it was before X. Canelo wasn't the same Canelo we know now. Floyd was heavily favored. The effortless way Floyd dominated Canelo was what made it impressive. But, Canelo wasn't all that impressive a fighter back then. He's grown a lot.
That said, it's pretty close either way. I think what Manny did here at 40 certainly feels like a greater accomplishment but you can't overlook the way Floyd completely outclassed a guy who would go on to be a #3 P4P fighter.Comment
