Is DAZN destroying boxing?

Canelo has a track record of being generous to opponents in order to secure big fights which has caused some to become entitled. For instance, GGG rejected a career high payday from him then turned around and claimed he was being ducked. And for the rematch he was threatening to kill the fight, saying that since they gave Cotto an inflated purse then they deserve one too.Comment

Canelo offered $4 mill, then $6 mill to Kovalov. Kathy Duva properly pointed out that the lesser known Danny JAcobs got $12 mill to fight GGG, so it was common sense for Krusher to hold out for the same dough. DAZN had nothing to do with the negotiations, except that it wants a third GGG-Canelo fight.Kovalev's management team wanting $12 mil for a Canelo fight?
Is this a joke or what?
A bigger guy 3 divisions heavier is the one demanding huge money?
Canelo even surpassed Mayweather, the PPV king, now,
whose opponents averaged only $1 mil in purses, many times over.
What in Neptune is happening?
Why would anyone fight the top guns now for less than $5 mil?
Wilder vs Joshua wasn't made because of money.
Titles didn't even mean anything. It's terrible.
I don't even know where to begin.Comment

Yeah, it's a gamble. No one really knows what kind of gain DAZN will make out of the fight since it's not even a PPV.I mean Wilder was offered $12 mil for 3 title shots.
He turned them all down saying it's a lowball offer.
A guy who averaged $1.2 mil per fight, made $2 mil in the Ortiz fight.
I mean why even offer that kind of money?
Why not $4 mil, $5 mil, then go from there?
Why even assume DAZN will make billions out of that fight,
when in reality it's a gamble. Nobody knows what the profitability of it is/was.
And look what happened?
Why would Charlo, for example, fight GGG for $1 mil now?
We had Fury vs Wilder 1, which Deontay claimed before the fight it'll be way bigger. Well, how much did Wilder get, $7 mil?Comment

DAZN needs to think long and hard before wasting these huge amount of money.
It's better spent recruiting an army of scouters for young talents.
This sport needs many many superstars, not just one or two,
which is ridiculous.Comment

How many “superstars” are there on ESPN. How many “superstars” on Showtime or Fox?
Everything you said they should be doing had already been in play.
Japan vs Mexico bouts have been a thing for months and will continue to get better.Comment

How u gonna bring up only 2 things which wasnt even DAZN fault. U take away DAZN and those same politics exist foolComment

Why the *** would I care about the business side of boxing. What dazn pays fighters aint none of my concern as long as they continue to show lot of fights.Comment

no different than PBC. They overpaid for years, and now cant make any "elite" level matches unless they are on PPV.......Dazn over paid getting in. Now that they see boxing is not profitable for them due to the excessive Matchroom and a Canelo contracts, this is the issue.
Dazn is a money mark for fighters. Now they can’t pay that much because fiscally it has been a disaster.
Now they aren’t willing to pay and can’t make the fights.
AJ Ruiz 2 - stalled
Canelo September fight - nothing
They got nothing and blew the budget. No one will fight on Dazn unless it’s triple their average pay. And Dazn is the morons who set that precedent.
Dazn is one of the ******est ran businesses ever known to business.Comment
