I miss the build up to the fights on HBO. Chit was epic most of the time.

HBO just had the "it" factor. The production, the aesthetics, the nostalgia... I miss it too.

Idk that they'll NEVER come back.

Thats a bolder statement then me saying they could reboot boxing in a couple decades. Thats basically what has happened with basic networks two or three times.

          It just stands out
Not if they can’t pay what other broadcasters are starting to pay now. That’s why the left boxing.

HBO has a great history though and i think the other broadcasts seem to lack that big fight feel but i think the likes of DAZN now are just paying money that HBO don’t want to match, hence them cutting it.

It is what it is. Things move on. They can’t just jump back in and take the top spot unless they can pay $300m contracts to top fighters like Canelo, which doesn’t seem likely, not anytime soon anyway. It might happen when Boxing eats itself because the money gets too big and can’t sustain it, then collapses. Then HBO might come back and pick it back up.

Thats definitely a noticable thing that no one did or does now except HBO back in the day. A big HBO fight date was burned into your brain & later their shoulder programming would hype it perfectly as the weeks closed in on days from the fight.

No one really bet on boxing like HBO did during their prime.

They made the best fights in boxing without argument & they put it in a parade down the middle of HBO & threw a cherry on top on fight night.

Who even makes the best fights now? Idk but not unlike those IBF rankings the #1 spot feels vacant & everyone is ranked 2A, 2B & 2C best case probably.

                      They can come back.

They had HBO "on the go" way before any of these apps existed.
