Just add one more excuse right on top of the pile from PM. Lol @ saying he didn't get the sh@t beat out of him in sparring vs. Conor with video footage, witness testimony and even video of such!Comment

And Toney got beat by one an all time great in an actual MMA fight. Paulie got beat of an average MMA fighter, most famous for being Conor McGregor's pal, in a style of fighting which should give a boxer an advantageComment

"Boxed his ears off" is definitely a stretch, as it was all peppering a barely-there jab after round 2, but then Paulie's right hand betraying him yet again clearly threw a wrench into his game plan. I remarked that he should hang them up, but that applies mainly to proper boxing. I think it would definitely be ill-advised for him to step into the ring with anyone approaching formidable at this point, but I agree he does probably stand to make plenty of easy money (if not conventional success) with minimal risk should be opt for the occasional BKFC or similar novelty one-off going forward, if he goes in and just bounces his way to an easy payday with the understanding of almost inevitable decision loss. If he finds his commentary compensation inadequate or needs a little extra coin for the craps table that is.Didn't see the fight, but it's looking like you're probably right. Sounds like Paulie still boxed the dude's face off, but this isn't boxing so that was for naught.
Paulie simply can't still box at a level that makes sense to keep fighting at; he's basically down to being about a Euro-level fighter at 147lbs. Beauty with that though, is that most MMA fighters aren't even at that level with their boxing, so if he can get a freak show (Conor vs Paulie is still viable, and likely about even at this point too), he can make money throwing punches.
Outside of that, the booth is the spot.
I was thinking about this too after the event Saturday. There are so many guys who are relatively one-dimensional brawlers but with a boxing skill set still well above the average MMA or bare knuckle veteran that could potentially clean up in a second life at BKFC. Guys like Lemieux or Gabe Rosado and Curtis Stevens (both of whom had a brief forray into the short-lived BKB--not to be confused with the current BKB promotion in the UK--which kind of split the difference between boxing and BKFC with a setup more akin to the latter but with traditional gloves) come to mind. It would even be an option for younger guys with decent power but otherwise limited range like Jaime Munguia.Comment

My guess is that Paulie thought he could secure a decision doing more or less what he did while landing enough rights/bigger shots to win the judges' favor, but that all went out the window with his liability right hand after round 2. One gets the urge to ask Paulie if he's ever heard of a left hook, but he was probably terrified of the exact same thing happening minutes later. Those hands are simply hot garbage, I'm afraid. They're the hands of someone who probably was not meant to box professionally, but was able to sc**** together a respectable showing all the same, haha.Ahhh thanks for clarifying that. I believe Paulie won on boxing points and felt he got shafted by a promotion that has boxing in its name but CLEEEEARLY has and markets to an MMA audience. I can appreciate their scoring criteria being in favor for the aggressor because although i feel Paulie outboxed him, I really wanted to see someone get bludgeoned into a bloody pulp as that is what comes to mind when i think of Bareknuckle FC. Paulue clearly didnt pay attention to the scoring rules. Either that or he did but didnt want THAT kind of smoke wit GOATem Lobov.
I was on the Paulie got robbed train until I read your post. Kudos!Comment

I do get all that but I'm kicking myself for watching it at all. It just tastes bad and I'll stick to the padded hands game from now on. I'd rather watch women's boxing, I think. Probably. Maybe. He IS wrong. He didn't throw damn near anything for three rounds. There's only five of them.
That's the beauty of having an odd number of rounds. You're almost always going to get a winner. It's a beautiful thing.
THIS. It's really that simple.
That's unfortunate, that you'd let Paulie's piss poor performance qualify that decision. That fight is NOWHERE NEAR what BKFC is usually like. Go watch Lobov's first fight against Jason Knight, it was way more action and Jason Knight actually put up a damn good fight.
People need to understand. BKFC IS NOT BOXING, it's a FIGHT. If you don't come to fight, you lose. It's simple. You can't jab and run and expect to win when your opponent is walking you down for 3 rounds.Comment

Stylistically there's nothing like pure boxing.
What just frustrates me is when people on NSB criticize the defensive boxers and say all that matters is punches landed, but then say Paulie somehow won a fight where the number of punches he landed in three rounds could be counted on one hand.Comment
