Paulie's little adventure outside of traditional boxing here I think may have ended up even worse than James Toney's.

Punch resistance totally gone
Got your ass beat
4-1 lobov
I genuinely believe he feels he won. He didnt throw a punch in the last round
Sometimes boxers feel like they are winning by making the other guy miss. But you gotta lay your own offense too.Comment

Dude you fought like a jittery crackhead made to face the person he stole two dollars and a loose cigarette from. GTFOComment

Stop crying like a wounded rabbit, Paulina. You have the biggest mouth in boxing but you just can’t back it up! There’s no doubt in my mind even glass chin Amir Khan would rearrange your face in a bare knuckles fight before he puts you out of your misery. Your days of fighting are over, you’re never good at it anyway!Comment

At least Toney is a boxing legend, Paulie is and has always been a joke. By the time Toney went to MMA he was in his forties, way past his prime, and already showing symptoms of CTE.Comment

Ahhh thanks for clarifying that. I believe Paulie won on boxing points and felt he got shafted by a promotion that has boxing in its name but CLEEEEARLY has and markets to an MMA audience. I can appreciate their scoring criteria being in favor for the aggressor because although i feel Paulie outboxed him, I really wanted to see someone get bludgeoned into a bloody pulp as that is what comes to mind when i think of Bareknuckle FC. Paulue clearly didnt pay attention to the scoring rules. Either that or he did but didnt want THAT kind of smoke wit GOATem Lobov. He isn't wrong. But BKFC have seemingly made a statement with that decision with regard to their scoring criteria, particularly relative to conventional boxing: aggression--even plodding and ineffectual--will apparently be awarded above all else. It is what it is and does carry a certain logic in terms of what BKFC's main demographic wants to see. He probably does need to hang them up for good.
I was on the Paulie got robbed train until I read your post. Kudos!Comment

Same thoughts! This set the bar and the standard for BKFC. The slick boxer types will likely stay away while the "bite down and throw" types will go there post boxing and we may actually get to see some good named fighters close out theor fighting careers there.Didn't see the fight, but it's looking like you're probably right. Sounds like Paulie still boxed the dude's face off, but this isn't boxing so that was for naught.
Paulie simply can't still box at a level that makes sense to keep fighting at; he's basically down to being about a Euro-level fighter at 147lbs. Beauty with that though, is that most MMA fighters aren't even at that level with their boxing, so if he can get a freak show (Conor vs Paulie is still viable, and likely about even at this point too), he can make money throwing punches.
Outside of that, the booth is the spot.
Interesting that Paulie helped clear up the code though; if Lobov and his style are what BK is betting on, there's a level of boxer that'd crush the field while no longer being true world level boxers
A few things I hope to see happen are:
- Fights changed to at LEAST 8 rounds if rounds are only 2 mins
- Better more knowledgeable commentators who know both boxing and MMA. Tarver was butchering Artems name all night.
- a new ring announcer. That guy tries way too hard.
- i like the repeating of "what time is it?" Into the "its time to knuckle up" battle cry but the ring announcer makes it sound annoying (hence my previous point).
All in all i like the promotion so far and I hope they can get some names to boost its popularity. Give Artem a belt and let him be the poster boy!Comment
