Fury's had two fights of any note. One win, one draw. He's spent more time as a fat druggie than he has as a top 3 heavyweight.

If he went back on the booze, drugs and kebabs tomorrow (and it could happen) he wouldn't even be held in the esteem of Rid**** Bowe. He's miles away from this conversation.

I still say Ali. He wasn't small at 6'3" and he fought tall. He moved like no other Heavyweight ever has. Don't tell me Fury moves like Ali - he's nowhere near Ali's footwork or hand speed. I'll accept he's quick for a Heavyweight but still nowhere near Ali.

And he had the smarts in the ring. Could win in different ways. I think it's become cool to dismiss older fighters on the basis of the current crop of giants. You don't think there were tall guys boxing before? They didn't excel because they weren't great sportsmen. Back in the day boxing was popular - it produced genuine superstars. You couldn't take up boxing at 20 and become the best because there were genuine Champions being developed.

Larry Holmes was the best heavy. H2H I think Vitali could probably beat any heavy on his day

They guy moves like Pernell Whitaker combined with Mayweather defensively (clever man to just pick that up) and hes looks like he just came from the WWE, he is the boss. Like it or not he is probably going to live forever in the history books of boxing like Ali Wlad Holmes Joe Louis and Marciano before him.

Because of his awesome skill natural genetic gifts especially and performances vs his peers) he will probably always be talked about as a potential GOAT

Prime Ali is a huge problem for any HW past or present

              Head-to-Head:

              1) Fury
              2) Vitali
              3) Ali
              4) Wlad
              5) Foreman
              6) Lewis
              7) Holmes

Up to Ali it's indisputable. If you disagree, you probably haven't actually seen any of them fight.

It gets tough after Ali because Foreman could get decked by a guy like Lyle, but at least he could get off the canvas (more than once, no less) to win the fight. Things got worse against movers, though. Jimmy young might be underrated, but he's by no means a top 10, or even top 15 Heavyweight.

Holmes was exactly the kind of fighter to beat Foreman. He wasn't as good as Ali, but he was better than Young. He probably had more firepower than both. He's the most complete fighter on the list. The most skilled. But the least physically impressive: he lacks either the athleticism or size that the others possess.

Lewis was chinny and his balls could suddenly shrink, but when he held the advantage in a fight he was as good a boxer-puncher as the division ever saw. Really impressive to watch.

Wlad is like a caricature of Lewis. But boring.

It's a shame no one told that to Frazier, Norton or Young....

Ali's speed was like Wilder's power. It worked great until it didn't. A guy like Vitali or Fury is going to use his superior size and skill to make Ali look pedestrian. Anyone who's followed Boxing for just a little bit knows that.

Natural? Fury is a steroid user, there is nothing natural in steroids.

I wouldn't compare him to Pep and Whitaker, but he's like a Benitez or more athletic Toney/Hopkins. The best part is that he doesn't use his size, he defies it.

Canyou imagine a 135 pound version of Lous or Ali ever being a champion? Maybe for a couple years. But not on the level of the legends of that division. They certainly look like heaps of steaming dog shyte compared to guys like Duran, Ortiz, Canzoneri. A lighter version of a Fury would be an absolute nightmare. He could play foil to those men.
