GGG looked ok, more body work was good but still gets hit a lot, I really enjoyed seeing him back but just can't gauge much off a fight with someone nobody knew. You have to pick Canelo to win on points every time.Comment

nope..... when the pressure comes on, and Golovkin is faced with the same problems as last time..... he will revert to type
come on, Gennady had a lifetime to prepare for the Canelo rematch..... but he could not get his game going at all
he resorted to jabbing defensively.....
" he did what he could... he did what was available to him " ~ Sanchez
and..... they do not think that Canelo will take advantage of a sloppy jab and swiss-cheese defence?
you cannot teach an old dog new tricks..... they need to forget attempting to change G's style..... they need to implement strategies that work, and stick to them..... and they need to counter some of Canelo's work with fire, not with rhythm
I see a very clear win to Canelo in the rematch, G is getting beat up, againComment

thinking that Golovkin " forgot " to work the body last time, is naive
they shared 24 rounds for fcuks sake..... did it really not occur to Golovkin during those 24 rounds to work the body?
he did everything he could with Canelo..... and when Golovkin opened up to target Rolls body, he got countered..... and Canelo is MUCH more dangerous than Rolls, which is why G was a good boy in BOTH of those fights
he will be no more effective at working Canelo's body, unless both of Canelo's arms fall off during the fight..... Golovkin will have the exact same problems but worse..... because Canelo is improving, and because Canelo is a thinking fighter (unlike Golovkin) who has 24 rounds to build on
not the case in the first fight, or in the rematch really..... but this time Canelo will have Golovkin's numberComment

your " most fans and experts " line... only works for the first fight
1) " fans ", do not count..... they are idiots who see what they want to see
2) in the rematch, the " experts " saw Canelo winning..... MOST trainers and fighters say that Canelo won the rematch..... again, "fans" do not count
one of Golovkin's loudest " fans " recently crawled up into the fetal position and started sucking his thumb, after I showed him a video detailing how to score a professional boxing match
isn't that right, Tony ?
knowing how to score a professional boxing match is a prerequisite for having an opinion..... when casual fans realize that fact, then they can talk..... until that point, who cares what they thinkComment

I doubt anyone has changed their minds about who they think won the fights. There were only a few clear rounds, and a hell of a lot of close ones, and I think its the right conclusion that neither proved themselves to be the better boxer overall (although I gave the edge to G over the full 24 rounds).
G kept too much distance over the 24 rounds to be able to launch an effective body attack, no doubt wary of Canelo's counters when up close. If G closed the gap and went to the body he's going to have to take a lot of return fire that he he was shy of in the first two fights - and he's likely to have to take a couple of solid hits to land each one of his own. If Canelo held his ground it could be a short and brutal fight, and G's chin would have to live up to its reputation. I think in a shoot-out youth would win out, G having lost some of his timing with age - can imagine him taking too many shots.
Canelo's chin would also have to hold up though.
I agree with most of the bold
GOOD POST !
props for keeping it real..... guys who think that Golovkin " forgot " to work the body, and can simply "remember" next time..... or "try harder" next time..... are setting themselves up for a fall
the exact same thing happened to Chavez..... who is HUGE, and very tough..... he kept them hands at home because of how sharp/punishing Canelo is in the ringComment

that conversation continued for a looooong time
many similar conversations continued for a looooong time
as that video proved, you were wrong in ALL of those conversations
no acknowledgement, no apology, nothing...
as usual... you circled the wagons, and continued preaching the party line
so, I have the right to " swipe "
be honest man..... you were scoring incorrectly, and you know itComment
