I'm just assuming Showtime might get the boot if things work out like were are speculating.
Well yes, in this hypothetical scenario, I think Showtime loses out. As for Top Rank, if Endeavor is selling all of UFC's TV plus half of PBC's TV, but demands that ESPN not show any other boxing or MMA, is ESPN really going to choose Top Rank over UFC and PBC? There's no point in Endeavor buying PBC unless they're going to be very aggressive in leveraging UFC to give PBC every advantage possible over other boxing en******.

For PBC to have any chance of becoming to boxing what UFC is to MMA, they'd have to find a way to slit Top Rank's throat. Taking their TV deal would be a good way to do it and 7 years from now, it's unlikely that Bob Arum will still be alive and if he is alive, it's unlikely he'll have the mental faculties to run the company.

I know he's groomed his stepson or whatever, but you have to think without Bob that Top Rank won't be the same and their roster is already pretty thin compared to PBC.

But why slit TR's throat when you can work with them to make bigger fights + you could even build a relationship with them that allows you to buy them out in the near future or once Bob passes. TR does got some pretty good guys that you could make into something if you could make them up with more PBC guys or you could make PBC guys bigger if you match them up with TR guys. Whoever wins is gonna be bigger thats for sure.

It sure beats 3 different worlds cuz the reality isn't that TR would die if ESPN booted them anyway. TR would just catch a deal with DAZN or some new player & then we are in the same ole boat we are always in. The play is to conquer your competition not slit their throats cuz its easier to conquer mfers than slit their throat anyway.

I'm not sure how things would work legally if Endeavor bought both a promotional company and a management company. The Ali Act might make that tricky.

The management company's entire business model has been to reduce promoters' leverage as much as possible. So whether it's Top Rank or anyone else, if they're not pawns for PBC, they're pretty much the enemy.

Would be great for fans like us if they could work together all the time, but it just seems unlikely.

I agree with you that 3 different worlds sucks. I have nothing against DAZN, ESPN or PBC, but I liked things better when it was just HBO and Showtime.

Maybe Emanuel goes back and tries to purchase TR like he did a few years back?

He's going to quickly realize though that boxing isn't nearly as profitable as the UFC since the A side fighters make so much of the money opposed to the UFC. Will be interesting to see if he tries to adjust their paying scale.
He didn’t want TR. Just their library. Still doesn’t want them.

WME first tried to purchase Top Rank and then the library and were told no both times.

Idk about all this. Endeavor may or may not promote or manage anyone. They would merely be owners. Haymon would still manager. Todd/Bob would run TR or maybe if Bob dies Dana just becomes the head of TR. Haymon would be a firewall between any MAA issues just like he is now.

I've sorta lowkey hated HBO for years cuz HBO coulda taken over boxing at one point, but they didn't really have a desire to do so. The sport woulda been better off if they did. So I'm pro-anything that could lead us to a boxing world that makes some motherf#cking sense & PBC, DAZN & maybe now Endeavor are all cats that could in theory do something crazy that could weld the sport together in a way that would be a game changer for its trajectory in the greater sports world.

Why don't the PBC just simply merge with Top Rank? Then we will be able get all the fights that we want to see. I'd rather for the PBC be sold to a rival competitor that has a linear platform like Top Rank than Matchroom USA; Because the fighters would become isolated and unknown among the casual fans in the states. It's hard to build new stars on an online video media streaming service. If Top Rank purchases the PBC then that can help expand its platform to both Fox and Showtime.

I'm not inundated on what your stream here is contact.
Just the same..gonna try and open it up.
Where I am direct business interested in the SPORT is the Administration. Directly, my interest is in seeing Boxing GROW at crossover.
So...such can and does relate par this topic.
The *problem with boxing present day can be summed up in a nutshell once you can identify what the true ills of the Sport are; stuff that cause the interest to diminish.
So..these big bosses at Boxing now..if they do NOT keep things to a certain Avenue they are NOT helping anything really.
For my own sake [I am 62 and situated in CT] I am (aa) "interested" in the business but (bb) Know the Sport so very well that I see how even me working inside Boxing would be futile unless we worked from a Constitution.
I'd really enjoy to bring more of my base. I have two (2) Organizations.

I’m a big fan of Endeavor as an organization but I don’t really see the appeal of wanting to purchase PBC or really any entity in boxing. Margins just aren’t there from what I’ve heard. To me, the only way it might make some sense was if Endeavor knew that they themselves would become more valuable in the eyes of purchasers/investors by acquiring it. I’d be very much against it if I were a decision maker there, though.
