Of course he would get more money if he won, and that is what would be in the rematch clause, it was a one way rematch clause.

Finally who would demand insane numbers, someone who doesn't want to rematch, which is the whole point of a rematch clause. Contracts are always written to assume bad intentions, otherwise why have a contract at all?

Ruiz is getting paid, big time, but the time for that negotiation was before signing the rematch clause.
I agree with most of what you are saying. It's just that some people were making it sound as though Ruiz had no say in the rematch and everything had to favor Joshua. I call that BS.

The confusing thing is: Ruiz seems to not know what's in the contract. If he knew what was in there, why wouldn't he know where the rematch would be held (since it's in the contract as you say)? Maybe they left that for the winner to decide?

Also, if the money split was decided beforehand, why would he (and his father) say they want more money? Something doesn't add up.

Anyways, I'm a fan of neither. Good luck to both of them.

100 million was on the table and Wilder said no to fight a tin can for peanuts...it's all verifiable, go check it out.

First of all he supposedly got at least 10 mil for the Breazeale fight. Far from peanuts. Secondly unbeknownst to the naive brits there were conditions tied to the DAZN deal. Venues, judges, referees. Why should Wilder cave to any demands at all from the china chinned brit? Yes he drew large crowds in britain. What else is there to do? Bad weather and ugly women. I would be at Wembley myself if it was raining and my wife was a dog. The whole A-side, B-side debate is B.S. Wilder is the hardest puncher in the game and Joshua has no chin and no stamina. These issues did not just pop up overnight. If Wilder was offered a reasonable, one fight deal, Joshua would have been knocked cold in less than a minute!

But Eddie has lost some trust and it is obvious. We all saw what Robert Joshua did after the fight. Interesting times ahead!!!

Looks like it’s all “he said, she said”

But what’s concrete verifiable is Joshua getting a sustained beating from a late replacement with 35% body fat and a ten inch reach disadvantage.

All I know is Haymon will not allow the titles to get ripped off in the U.K.

Ruiz was getting $7M and a chance at 3 belts as a last minute 3rd string replacement and had just seen Ortiz's team blow it, he wasn't letting his golden ticket blow away and remember time was of the essence, you really think he was worried about the rematch clause?

Hell just the $7M is probably what, 5 or 10 times what he has made in his entire career?

You are wrong! Some of us here on this forum are pure boxing fans so it is wrong to say what you said. To certain extent even you might agree that Eddie is not to be trusted because sometimes what he says doesn't add up! Please don't ask for examples.
