Ruiz is talking nonsense...he has a rematch clause so whatever is in it has to be respected.
Hearn did say that Ruiz will get more money in the rematch as per the clause but other than that location, date, times is up to Team Joshua because they gave Ruiz the optional defense in the first place, he wasn't a mandatory.
Ruiz has to talk to Haymon and co. to make sure that everything agreed to in the rematch clause is being honored but he can't just all of a sudden makes changes because he's champion now but didn't have concerns prior to signing the rematch contract before the bout.
I like Ruiz but until he beat Joshua again, he's still considered the B-side....just like when Saul Alvarez fought Rocky Fielding, even though Fielding had a belt, he was the B-side to Alvarez.Comment

Have a think about what you are suggesting for a minute, seriously.
In your world:
Loser can exercise the rematch but can't dictate anything else.
Money: Winner dictates $500M
Timeframe: Winner dictates in 20 years.
The rematch clause would be absolutely worthless and not enforceable at all. Is this how you think contracts work, you think lawyers would just miss this type of thing, really?
Do you know what is in the contract? How do you know it doesn't give the new champ more power to dictate? I find it hard to believe Ruiz wouldn't gain any more powers in the event that he won, and he did. Everything isn't up to Joshua.Comment

Ruiz won't be champion for very long but he beats Joshua again unless if it's in UK and Joshua runs to a decision cause no matter how many rounds Ruiz wins, the UK Judges won't see it that way. I see Ruiz knocking Joshua out again and Wilder knocking him out to unify all the titles. The wild card is Fury cause he can beat Wilder again and Ortiz.Comment

No controversy here, Ruiz has more leverage than the first fight obviously. Like any contract negotiation there will be give and take on both sides to make it acceptable for all parties. I will be on my couch watching and I have both DAZN and Showtime so the venue and network don't really matter to me. I won't receive any kickbacks financially from Hearn nor Haymon so I don't care who is considered to have won that aspect. I just look forward to the fight of/when it happens. It's amazing how enjoyable it is when you really only care about the fighters and fights.
Joshua and Hearn lost. They can't dictate everything anymore. First fight, yes, not this one. It's common sense.Comment

The amount you are putting out is kinda childish. Who is gonna demand that?

Finally who would demand insane numbers, someone who doesn't want to rematch, which is the whole point of a rematch clause. Contracts are always written to assume bad intentions, otherwise why have a contract at all?
Ruiz is getting paid, big time, but the time for that negotiation was before signing the rematch clause.Comment

Silly boy
mate nightmare for you hearn minions....not only did Ruiz slap around and stop your g-d, but now he is exerting himself as the A SIDE with Joshua and if that were not enough, he is FIRMLY with Al Haymon and Haymon knows ALL THE ANGLES. Hearn minions, I’m afraid the nightmare continues for you. After Ruiz knocks out Joshua in the rematch, we can get to the long awaited unification of all 4 titles providing wilder gets past ortiz and fury. Either way, fast Eddie is OUT[/QUOTE]Comment
