Floyd is not gonna fight Margarito plain and simple, so Floyd fans can stop claiming he will. He is quoted on Maxboxing today as saying this "(Margarito is) going to have to beat a couple more known names
to get some recognition, so we can have a bigger fight down the line." This is coming out of his mouth. He will side step Margarito and fight Spinks like the little ***** he is, and all his fans will claim how this so much of a better fight. I don't know how you can have any respect for this guy. Margarito is the best fight out there for the best money right now, since an Oscar fight or Mosley fight won't happen until next year. I think we all knew this was coming and I'm not surprised for him to take on the lesser threat in Spinks. I know this hasn't happened yet, but I do know that Spinks and Mayweather's people are seriously talking and I won't be surprised when this announced. I also know that all the Mayweather fans will try to defend him and say how much better feather fisted Spinks is and that this is a better fight. Well that is all bull****. He will take this fight with less threat and for less money bottom line. I hope you Floyd fans are proud of this little *****. I haven't been a Floyd hater, but after hearing that these talks were serious and if this goes threw I don't know how anyone can have any respect for him. I know all the Floyd lovers aren't gonna like this, but I guess the truth hurts.

I agree with your post in general, but I am still a fan and have respect for Floyd. No doubt a Spinks fight sucks... I hate Cory Spinks as he stands for everything wrong with boxing today (any man that runs around the ring is no fighter). On the other hand I can explain to you why Floyd did this. As a strictly business decision what does Floyd get for fighting Margarito? A bunch of us hard-core boxing fans acknowledging that he didn't duck a dangerous fighter. The main stream world will give no credit and this will do nothing for Floyd's career. We were going to order Mayweather-Margarito regardless of when it happens, but the casual fan won't (and that is where Floyd and other big name fighters make their money). Also, Floyd is thinking about the fights next year which have not been set. IF and that is a big IF he were to lose to Margarito that would jeopardize those big money fights for next year. It is totally realistic to believe that DLH would stay retired if Floyd were to lose because it wouldn't add to DLH's legacy of beating the p4p undefeated man of boxing today. So you're right he ducks a dangerous fighter for less money today to make more money in the next 12 months. It sucks for the fans, but as a business decision its solid. Plus, if Margarito does fight more fights and increase his popularity it will make for yet another big fight down the road.

Then he reached his prime and said he only wanted all big fights. He signed on to fight Zab before the Baldy fight. Zab was highly regarded at the time and everyone wanted to see them fight. Ofcourse Zab screwed Floyd by losing to Baldy but that was suppose to be a huge fight for Floyd that he now gets no credit for.

After the big fight with Zab was supposed to come Oscar but obviously that didnt workout quite right.

The bottom line is that Floyd says he wants to go down as the greatest fighter ever and it was supposed to start in his last fight against Zab.

This is exactly what Floyd will do. He will fight Margarito on Nov. 4, then follow that up by beating Spinks on his birthday in Febuaray. Spinks already has a good resume and he will have kicked Rivera's ass by then so the fight will be huge and it will let Floyd get a fight in at 154. He will then be a 5 division Champ. He will then beat Oscar in May or June. After that he will move back down to beat Mosley. By that time Hatton & Cotto should be ready and he will knock them off and finish up by beating Winky at 154.

I honestly think that can happened but it could be a stretch. What is not a stretch and what I am guaranting is he everything I said early about him beating Margarito, then Spinks, and then Oscar. Those guys will be his next 3 fights. Book it
you and I should be in charge of handling Mayweather's career from this point forward. I said the exact same thing in a thread late last night. right on point as always, DLT.

If that is the case than in my opinion he cannot be considered the p4p #1 fighter in the world when guys like Winky & Paquiao consistantly fight the toughest opponents in there weight classes and in Winky's case even moving up in weight. He can't be considered the grestest thing since sliced bread when he continuosly fights lesser opponents. If that is what he is going to do, than fine and yes it sucks for the fans, but he can't be considered p4p. I remember a time a few years ago when the DLH, Mosley,Wright,Tito,Vargas were all fighting each other and not making ***** ass excuses. They did it to define there legacies, and they did it for the fans. I am not a Mosley fan and I hate Tito, but I have to respect them, because they never backed down from a challenge. All these men wanted to fight the best and proved it time and time again. They all had there losses, but at least they were man enough to step up and take the challenges and that is why they are all so highly rgarded to the boxing world. Love them or hate them, you have to respect them and what they have done for boxing. I don't know what happened to those days, because boxing is really suffering because of it. Floyd should really take a good look at these types of guys and take a chapter out there books, if he wants to ever be considered one of the best and stop taking on mediocre opposition. This not coming from a hater this is coming from a boxing fan that is interested in what is good for the sport and for the fans. Actions speak louder than words and Floyd nees to shut up and start putting all this talk into action.

There's been so much **** talking about the floyd/margarito fight that i wouldn't be surprised if he took the fight just to shut up all his critics, regardless of Margarito's obvious lack of status. He'll take it, beat him, and to think otherwise is just ridiculous in my opinion, I haven't seen anything from Margarito to say he could beat Mayweather, it would be another Gatti fight just not as bad.

thats what i think. mosley, margarito vs boyfloyd is what i want to see. or even a hatton at 147 would be better than a spinks or baldomir. altho baldomirs weird jack in the box style could be entertaining against floyd.
