Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua Exercises Rematch Clause For Andy Ruiz Sequel

Bro, come on. Joshua got a blow to the head and couldn't recover after three rounds - that's three rounds! To live in that kind of limbo is catastrophic to the psyche of any heavyweight. To have that self-knowledge is irreconcilable. Joshua is finished. Ruiz caved his head in. What a lot of people had suspected for a long time was proven true. Once Joshua gets dazed his mental faculties dwindle to a mortal and dangerous level. His thought processes become dimmed, slowed and confused. Ruiz could possibly kill him in the rematch.Comment

He was the same guy that fought them..... they all had him hurt they just didn’t capitalize on it and let him recover Ruiz didn’tComment

Joshua is gonna end up having a trilogy with an out of shape Uber driver.
AJ is such an all-time greatComment

Eddie moving quickly because he knows Haymon working on finding Loopholes right now to flip this thing completely upside down
Trying to rush it could backfire again and ruin AJ career forever so lets hope this is AJ really wanting the rematch instantly and not Eddie Hearn talking him into doing the rematch right away for his SELFISH GAIN and making it about him vs HaymonComment

Credit to AJ for taking the rematch immediately. Hope he learns what he needs to by Dec. or else he is getting KTFO again.Comment

It is reported that Ruiz will get 12,713,000 US for the rematch. IMHO, this news sucks. Andy should get at least what AJ made in the first fight. I have no problem with AJ getting the higher percentage, but Ruiz's purse should at the very least be comparable.
"The terms were written into the deal ahead of the first fight at Madison Square Garden on Saturday. Under that agreement, it is understood Joshua will also call the shots over the location second bout, contrary to suggestions from Ruiz, the new IBF, WBA and WBO champion."
Compliments of Daily Mail UKComment

Bro, you can't learn to emancipate yourself from three rounds of utter confusion. You can't train to liberate yourself from the limbo you don't even know that you're in. Joshua's powers of recovery are terrible. No heavyweight can sustain a career with that kind of mortal deficiency. Joshua is over. The rematch is good insofar as it will be the final burial of an over-hyped myth.Comment

I think you are on to something sicko... Eddie was already pushing the rematch at the presser, meanwhile Joshua's father had to be restrained from going after him. They are not doing Joshua any favors if they rush him in... Dude has to learn how to move his feet and not get backed up. He also has to recover psychologically.Comment

The whole she**** stinks. Who activates a rematch clause three days after a fight, with how effed up Josh looked in the fight? Something isn’t right.
I’ve watched the fight again and the alleged temple shot wasn’t really a big shot and Josh really didn’t take that many big shots in the fight, most of those shots were slapping shots.
Something just stinks but I can’t put my fingers on it as someone who has watched Josh since his amateur days.
Im sure it will, but i think the % will already be stated in the contract for the first fight.
Dillian Whyte turned down the AJ fight because he felt the rematch clause % was unfair if he won.
I’m sure they probably offered Ruiz a similar deal in terms of rematch but he was in a much lesser position so wouldn’t have turned it down.Comment
