    Are people underrating Ruiz?

Everyone seems to be focusing on Joshua and how embarrased he was, how poor he performed etc. But what about Ruiz?

He impressed me a lot, showed great footwork, fundamentals handspeed and ring IQ.

I've got to be honest I don't follow the heavies as much as other divisions but I remember seeing Ruiz way back and being impressed with his handspeed, he's fast as fk for his size.

His best wins before last night:
    Alexander Dimitrenko
    Siarhei Liahkovich
    Kevin Johnson

And then the MD loss to Joe Parker.

    So no.

I think I had him beating Parker but he’s not that great. He’s just never beat anyone that’s worth much

I always thought he was top level . only had 1 bs decision loss. He might be chunky but he has great stamina !

He has the fastest hands and combinations in the HW division. Got to keep him at distance with a Klitschko Jab jab grab strategy until he wears down.

Lol he is not 'fast as fk'. He only appears to be faster because his body shape suggests he should be slow. It's not like he has Zab Judah hand speed. Wilder and especially Fury would have no problem with his hand speed.

The thing is, it wasn’t a bs loss to Parker.

Most people felt a draw was about fair or a round either way. A draw would’ve been fair.

I thought Ruiz was excellent last night, but prior to that, the evidence showed that he was around the level of Parker, there or thereabouts. There was nothing to suggest he was really any better.

The same people that claim Ruiz is not "that good" also say Ortiz is elite because he beat jennings.

No, that would be Tyson Fury's win over Wladimir Klitschko in which he won the unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, Ring, and lineal championship. Plus the draw with Wilder, which many thought he won.

Wilder beat Liakhovic just like Ruiz, except Wilder knocked him out in the first while Ruiz took him the distance for a UD.

And Wilder's other wins of note are all better than Kevin Johnson or Dimitrenko:
                    Luis Ortiz
                    Bermane Stiverne (twice)
                    Dominic Breazeale
                    Malik Scott
                    Chris Arreola
                    Gerald Washington
                    Johan Duahapas
                    Artur Szpilka
                    Eric Molina

That's 11 (counting Liakhovic) wins better than Ruiz's second best win, plus the controversial Fury draw.

Ruiz has to back it up. Period.
