He impressed me a lot, showed great footwork, fundamentals handspeed and ring IQ.

I've got to be honest I don't follow the heavies as much as other divisions but I remember seeing Ruiz way back and being impressed with his handspeed, he's fast as fk for his size.
I am not underrating him now. He is the reason AJ lost. He did what Ortiz, Fury and Wilder all said they could do but never took big money offers to get in the ring and do it. Ruiz has only the close loss to Parker and maybe he is much better than ever. He is the champ now with most of the belts and maybe nobody can beat him. Fury and Wilder have flaws just like AJ and I don't favor them to beat Ruiz anymore. They will have to show me if they can beat him or not.

Ruiz isn't that good but he is better than most people anticipated.

Him and his team had a good game plan.

If you listened to his corner and listened to Mora during the broadcast you understood what he was doing.

He basically countered everything Joshua was doing. He took away AJs right hand. His corner told him he (AJ) was "showing his right." Letting him know to be aware of it. He set up the temple shots by shooting to the chest and body. AJ tried a few left hooks and one landed hard but he was staying around too long and getting countered.

AJ tried to adjust after the first KDs but he was too fatigued to pull it off. There's no way in hell Ruiz should've been getting as close as he was getting.

Ruiz fought a good fight and AJ did not.

This is a massive win for him and the story should be about him being that big of an under dog and being the first Mexican HW champion. That's a big deal.

Actually I think it takes only 1 good day of someone like Whyte/Ortiz/Ruiz/Kownacki, and Fury and Wilder will be stopped as well.

Its hard not to underrate a guy as out of shape as Ruiz is. He's got a f#cking bowling players body ffs. But yea that speed really shined for him last night. I legit think Joshua thought he was being jumped by 2 or 3 guys at times in the fight Ruiz was so quick.

I think Andy Ruiz is overrated ever since the AJ upset. It was the Buster Douglas effect

True. Might I add, in my opinion Wilder won the first Fury fight, that was the longest count we have ever witnessed in the history of boxing. Even if you dont stop the fight there, he got put down twice and Fury did nothing in the fight except run around and slap.

If you stand in front of Andy, you might lose a UD

Especially in this crap filled HW era.

He will never be a HW champ again.

                The blueprint has been established.

Pure fluke and Ruiz fans still gloat over his ''no successful HW defensed'' reign
