I doubt he will knock back $20m and if it's in the contract he'll have to face him unless he does a Fury which he defo won't. I make the rematch 50-50 because Joshua will fight gun shy, and don't forget the cards were level despite his ass going down twice in the third. I think Ruiz knows Joshua fought the wrong fight after he was dropped and gave him the chance to let those faster hands do damage. Ruiz defo has the mental edge now, but it's hw boxing and Joshua can still beat him if he fights long and ties him up. The matchroom judges in London will never give Ruiz a decision.

Other than the knock down punches, did AJ land a single combo ?

If anything, Joshua in the post fight conference was a bit shaky when it came to committing for the rematch.

Ruiz has no choice as the rematch clause was in the contract. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it stated in the contract that the rematch would take place in the UK.

If he wants to remain champion, he'll have to honor the rematch clause in the contract. If he doesn't, he'll not only lose the title, he'll also look like a coward.

... but, basically, in prize fighting one has to be there... "why one isn't there" has less importance in history...

                I really don't care.
Good thing is Wilder's huge payday is gone
and back to making $2 mil per fight.
Unless Showtime wants to lose money giving him
more than they cannot afford just to show they're as big as DAZN.
                Doe.

So you're not a fan of boxing, you just don't like one boxer.

And you think you're a true fan defending a clown who can't fight
                    without being guaranteed retirement money?
Wilder your hero doesn't belong in this prestigious sport.
You don't belong here too. Switch to WWF or something.

Also, you have to wonder where Joshua’s stock is now. Obviously he will still be a big draw and a good payday for anyone, but a lot of his fan base are not boxing fans and they will be fickle. His ticket sales in the UK have been getting slower and slower anyway. I think now the casual fan base has seen the loss, it might be that bit harder to sell out these stadiums against just anybody. That’s the problem when your support is made up of people who follow your stardom, not boxing.

If the paydays are not quite the same, it might not be quite as easy to tempt fighters over to put their belt on the line.

In my opinion, his next fight and the outcome will determine whether he remains the money man in the division or just becomes another heavyweight. The fall could be as quick the rise.
It all depends on him, in the UK they kinda like when an icon falls down. They like that feeling like “He is one of us after all” like the Frank brunos, Ricky Hatton etc

Had he won this fight then it would be the guy he was fighting was a bum, just look at the state of that guy etc

I don’t want to write him off but meh he isn’t really my cup of tea but I like the fact that he brought all the belts together in a shorter space of time.
