They lost millions because it was on regular TV and failed to crack 1 million viewers and the live gate was in the 3 million range. There’s no way that was enough to cover Wilder’s purse of $10 million and the $2 million Breazeale got.

You really don’t have to go into detail to see that it was a financial bomb for showtime. They are banking on recouping that with future fights I’m guessing.

I meant explain to me the actual semantics of how money is exchanged, spent, made on that sort of production...you mentioned gate....explain how let’s say the viewership was 300k more like normal for wilder, explain to be how showtime/cbs makes its money showing fights without advertisements and a subscription base, explain the average showtime viewership to me as a network with far fewer subscriptions than HBO, etc etc.

The PBC plan was well concocted and executed beautifully by Team Wilder. Slaveroom came here with too much hype. Therefore, The PBC had to sabotage them
Eddie heard came to the USA with the mindset that he was going to be the top dog in this country, his online minion army which came to boxing as fans of him and Joshua claimed he would “take over American boxing”, Hearn insulted and alienated much of the boxing community in the USA, his online minions have hardened resistance against him, and now all of that is coming to a head....this “banter” mindset this chav culture of low rent crass council estate lack of manners has put slaveroom and dazn where they are right now. Anyone in the USA actually care about this fight tonight? Is there ANY biz among the casuals? Any? Anyone at work talking about it? Dazn was wrong to gamble on Hearn, he is a silver spoon hustler with no street education

Shut up AJ. Wilder is fighting two guys you ducked. And nobody is interested in your fight with Ruiz. Wilder has big business to tend to in his next 2 fights. AJ was going to hide behind his mandos no matter what happened. And then AJ will say "I had to defend my titles or they were going to strip me. BOMB SQUAD!!!!

First off it’s schematics not semantics.

Secondly That level of detailed analysis isn’t required to deduce that Wilder-Breazeale lost money.... and no the viewership was less than what he has had in the last for fights where he earned $2 million. If you’re not convinced that they lost of a boatload overpaying Wilder then that’s fine.

Can you really respect his reign despite NEVER fighting Fury, Wilder, and Ortiz while Wilder will have fought Fury and Ortiz TWICE.
Just on the point of who Wilder and AJ are fighting, it raises an interesting point as while they aren't fighting each other, they seem to be isolated with two different pools of fighters, and neither of those pools are particularly deep.

Just looking at who there actually is in the Ring top 10

                1/2/3) AJ/Fury/wilder
                4) Whyte
                5) Ortiz
                6) Povetkin
                7) Parker
                8) Kownacki
                9) Pulev
                10) Rivas

So AJ has fought 4, 6 and 7. Then potential fights are:
                - Whyte/Rivas winner
                - Pulev

Wilder has/will have fought 2, 5, 5 (Ortiz twice). Then potential fights:
                - Kownacki
                - Fury rematch

Not sure if Parker/Povetkin would be available or of interest to Wilder or not

Then can add in Usyk for AJ down the road if he does ok in his first couple of fights.

Lord knows what Fury will be doing.

So that's pretty much our menu for the next 12 months, only one there being of interest being Wilder/Fury rematch, and the rest just ongoing Breazeale/Schwarz/Ruiz type affairs as they all stay busy not fighting each other.

Pretty lame weight class thinking about it what with all the marination.

Might as well start talking up the fight with Kubrat Pulev!

There is someone fresh and new, who should be ready in 2020: EFE AJAGBA! I can't wait to see him get in the mix!
