I think T.V networks are the real problem....when Leonard and Duran was fighting all the massive fights were closed circuit where you could watch for the equivalent of 25 dollars....they were events and a golden era of welterweights and middleweights....showtime & HBO rivalry played in big part on how boxing is now segregated in terms of big fights. When a really good fighter loses now they are labelled as finished....with that era it was more styles make fights and they could still come back and become great... they wasn’t so harshly judged as they are now...that’s a big problem with boxing now
