If SRL was coming up today he'd have signed some huge deal with HBO & recently with DAZN probably & he'd be as handcuffed or limited with opponent selection as everyone else.

These old timey guys who don't understand the structure of the sport today & act like they'd just come in & wreck the status quo are humerous to me.

SRL would be like Devin Haney coming up today. He might try to play rogue player, but he'd get an offer he couldn't refuse at a certain level & then the next day he'd almost immediately be getting talked about in title shots & mando fights just like Haney did (not that it worked out all the way with Devin, but sounded like the WBC playing un-ABC standard games & effed up the plan). Its almost like you gotta be with a major promoter or player to get big fights or something lol.

bulls hit. those 4 guys would NEVER sign a contract to fight sub par fighters. they fought each other and only top tier guys. while moving up 2-3 divisions they would sometimes test the waters with a lesser fighter but next fight was with the champ. also the fighters in most of all the other divisions fought the best

what is even worse is todays fighters are juiced and could not make it against those guys back then who were not juiced. imagine duran fighting a major fight against a 40 year old blown up bantam weight
