It's always a wait game with the welterweights. De la Hoya, Trinidad and Quarty waited years before they all fought each other so did Lenard's era. Thurman, Spence and Crawford seem to be milking it alittle more though.

It's funny Duran says fighters today wouldn't have won against fighters of his day. But then goes on to cite Canelo as a stand out even though Canelo loses his fights but ends up getting the robbery win. Then we have him failing a drug test, twice. Not forgetting him creating his own weight class and ducking Golovkin and waiting for him to age a bit more.

Makes me feel that past fighters aren't exactly those we should listen to.

what is even worse is todays fighters are juiced and could not make it against those guys back then who were not juiced. imagine duran fighting a major fight against a 40 year old blown up bantam weight

Every athlete thinks that "their era" was better than the others....you can find that pretty much across all the major sports in America.

It's also proven that athletes have gotten bigger, stronger and faster over the years so in regards to Duran's comments I'm not to sure how true that is about today's fighters not being able to compete in his era. I'd be willing to bet that it'd be the other way around.

also hearns KO'd Duran and they still friends. look at what Duran and Hearns did by moving way up in weight. alright Hearns did have BIG advantage at WW but he did go all the way to LH

That KO was frightening. Duran went down like he was shot. Hearns was one intimidating guy. I remember the first time I saw him. The look on his face scared the crap out of me and I was watching it on the TV.
