Lomachenko was a prospect??? And Walters ****ed himself. Arum gave him a very generous offer to fight Lomachenko and he turned it down. Rigondeaux did the same thing. Of course both of them came back once they realized that they weren't going to make more money elsewhere.

He's obviously broken. He need someone to come along to believe him by help lifting his spirits. Unfortunately, the fire, passion and desire for the sport is no longer there. He is missed however. Who could ever forget the Darchinyan and Donaire knockouts?

As far as his return he actually had a scheduled fight a couple months ago but called it off due to fever.

Ever since than idk what happened to him. Such a promising fighter also.

Looks like he was trying to schedule a fight for August of last year.

There was not any "feeding" going on. This fight was a fight pitting two top tier 130lb opponents against each other. One passed the test and the other one failed the grade at that time. It was not some up and comer being matched against some old name opponent. It is how boxing supposed to be. The fight was a great fight on paper. Walters looked bad in the fight. It happens. Why he has not come back since then only he can answer.



Top Rank had Walters billed on two cards since then, and Walters backed out each time. Why? I have no idea.

Last we heard of him he was being sat on the shelf and kept inactive for almost a year by Bob Arum, then fed to Lomachenko.

He hasn't fought since. What ever became of him?

Walters turned down the Loma fight down 5 months prior to fighting Loma. He put himself on the shelf.

Then after he’s been scheduled to return twice and pulled out. First time was in the Crawford-Indongo card.

You and I both know that a fighter coming in off a 1-year layoff isn't being given a chance to put his best foot forward.

Would he have lost to Lomachenko anyway? Very likely. But let's not pretend like those were anywhere close to ideal circumstances for Walters.

Hell, look how bad Thurman looked against freaking Josesito Lopez after his layoff. How much worse must it be to go into a fight like that against someone like Lomachenko?
