    4) He has never dominated a division, or legitimately won a quality belt. (saturday may change that)

    5) There are many better lightweights, junior welterweights, and welterweights during his era
    .

Guys, having a Fight of the Year with Micky Ward is EXACTLY why he should NOT be in the Hall. Micky Ward is a guy who was DOMINATED by one Mr. Zabdiel "Super" Judah. The fact that Gatti struggles with this guy THREE times tells you he is a second-rate fighter. At best.

If Gatti wants into the Hall, the ticket office is open from 10am to 4pm.

SHOULD FERNANDO VARGAS GO INTO THE HALL OF FAME?

this is not the criteria you need to get into the hall, dumbass. if it was, the roster of inductees would be much much smaller.

                from an earlier post:

won titles in two (soon to be 3) divisions.
was in the fight of the year 4 times.
won the KO of the year against ruelas.
is one of the biggest box office attractions in boxing.
                doesnt dodge anybody.
gave three of the greatest fights in history.
has more heart than anybody in the sport.
has faced two of the greatest boxers in our era (floyd and oscar).

his resume is none too impressive and he has 7 losses. but gatti is good for boxing. hes a fearless warrior who gives the fans a good show while showing the heart and sportsmanship of a champion.

                THAT'S what hes done, *****.

                  Oh, this is too easy::

Cuevas: "dominated a division"... had 11 successful title defenses..went four years without a loss as champion

Fenech: Has been competitive with (beaten?) elite fighters. Beat carlos zarate (HOF) and had a draw with the great Azumah Nelson (HOF)

Gibbons: Competitive with harry Greb and Dempsey. HOFers.

Palomino: welterweight champ for three years and COMPETITIVE with HOFers Benitez and Duran

Saldivar: A dominant champ for FOUR years.

galindez: A dominant champion who defended his title 10 times. Unbeaten for six years including a win over Eddie Mustafa Muhammad.

                  Anything else, you *****?

Again, Gatti meets NONE of the criteria you would OBJECTIVELY use for "top fighter". None.

If Gatti gets in, the boxing HOF must have no self-respect. Sorry to put it so bluntly, but Gatti is not a great fighter in any sense of the word. He's exciting and great for boxing and a punching bag for good to great fighters.

All the stuff you are listing isn't PERFORMANCE related. Is Gatti an exciting fighter?? Yes. Because he is average and that makes for competitive fights.

He is in "fight of the year" against 10 loss fighters that decent fighters are DOMINATING. That is nothing to be proud of.

You said that he "faced two of the greatest boxers of our era". Yes, he did. AND HE GOT BADLY DOMINATED AND HUMILIATED IN BOTH FIGHTS. SHOWING THAT HE DIDN'T BELONG IN THE SAME RING AS THOSE GUYS.

By the way, Gatti is NOT one of the "biggest box office attractions in boxing history". Gatti had ONE big PPV fight. He and Mayweather did 350K buys. And in the next PPV, Mayweather did almost 400K with Judah.

I will be glad to post the list of both box- office leaders and PPV leaders. PizzaBoy is on neither list.

                      True story.
