They will say that whatever numbers are good for a fight at 9:01 with a replacement opponent, the NBA Finals going, and while Hearn chewed bubblegum. The fight lasted only a round so naturally people quickly tune the fuck out. It's normal.
Now what's going to be the excuse when Anthony Joshua's American debut flops on DAZN on June 1st? What's the narrative going to be then?
He is not going add any new subs stateside to DAZN. They are clearly going to tune him the fuck out.
I just can't wait til the first of June comes around and also when October of 2020 rolls around and there is still no Joshua vs Wilder deal then Matchroom is out at DAZN Eddie needs to sign that fight soon.
He has a small window left and things are beginning to unravel for him

When do you think they'll buy his tickets and PPV?As Wilder social media stats, internet searches, television appearances, youtube views continue to climb, there are about three posters who come on this site daily trying to convince everyone that no one knows Wilder and that he is actually losing popularity. I hope those three are getting paid, if not, they are wasting their talent.
Gaining nothing out of it will do him no good.Comment

I mean DAZN are just starting out so it's not going to have huge numbers as of now. But in time, it will grow.
You pay the same as a cable subscription as you do with the App and streaming?
So how much has Showtime grown over, say, the last 6 months?Comment

I hate Fury for him being delusional and contradicting himself. But he isn't half as bad as wilder is. So no, i'd be ashamed if that c4nt was British.Whats wrong with you, Sid?
You can obviously see that Wilder has been building
momentum and creating a lot of buzz, especially his latest
knockout, but you insist on denying it. Why is it so hard
for you to accept reality? You can still be a Joshua fan,
and nobody says you must appreciate Wilder, but you can't
bury your head in the sand and pretend Wilder is not
increasing his profile. He was the highest ranked boxer on
ESPN's recent list of trending athletes, he just won an
Emmy award, and his recent knockout of Breazeale was the
kind of highlight-reel stuff that attracts casual fans to the
sport. You will deny it, but I guarantee that you would be
among Wilder's biggest fans if he had been born a Brit.
None of this is turning into ticket sales or viewers though. It's down on previous, which shows his "Popularity" is clearly falling. None of this turns into profit for Wilder so it's meaningless.Comment

When he fights Fury, Joshua, and maybe Ortiz. The gain is the growth and the money they will make off of broadcasting those three fights. Showtime lost money on every fight on the Mayweather deal but Cotto and Pac. When asked, they said the Pac fight paid for the entire deal alone. Its called investment, just like DAZN has been doing throwing big money around. Coukd the investment not pan out for Showtime or DAZN...sure, but you have to pay to play.Comment

Showtime is an original programming network much like Netflix which has added boxing to its platform since 1986. Showtime is not a sports television network but DAZN is a sport online video streaming service.
DAZN is strictly a sports platform which caters directly to sports fans and all they have done since 2015 is just garner only 4 mil subs worldwide in 9 nine countries which is pathetic.
No wonder so many of their investors are pulling out because they are losing money on this venture.Comment
