Probably not. Williams exposed Hurd for the limited fighter that he is...

He is limited but it was a competitive fight and Hurd can come better prepared next time. He's still a bigger stronger man, question is how hard will he make weight this time.

Hurd wouldn't give Lara a rematch after a very close fight but wants an immediate rematch after a fight were he got beaten up.

I wonder if Hurd learned his defensive techniques from a masochist.

Hurd need to focus on resting and recovering cuz he took a brutal beating in that fight!

He should take the time to study the fight everyday and write down each mistake he made in the fight and learn that a hometown showcase fight are to be avoided especially when your coming off your biggest wins and on a momentum wave!

Then he should work on the mistakes he made in the fight cuz right now J rock is soaking in his victory!

This is the time to better prepare yourself this time around!

A tiger can't change his stripes. Hurd is what he is, tailor made for a guy like Williams. The beating will be worse next time as now Williams knows what to expect..

Yeah that was one of the weirdest performances that I've seen from a Champion. That was Wilder level defence. Hurd just put his hands up and leaned forward before trying to take a step forward?!? That's like saying upper cut please... Hurd could have one with a solid jab. I keep telling people to look at early Thomas Hearns footage to learn how to jab. He use to throw that jab so hard that both feet lifter off the ground!!!

I vividly remember Jermain Taylor’s rematch with Kelly Pavlik being at a CW above the MW limit and the belt not being on the line. And I’m sure there’s other examples that I just don’t remember off the top of my head. Clearing up the lone blemish on his resume is a helluva lot more important for Hurd than a belt.

If Hurd makes some adjustments he can win. If Hurd comes in the second time around and stays on the outside of Jrock he will lose.
I think it'd benefit Hurd to use his reach advantage. Fighting on the inside is where he was in the most trouble.
