Homie I think Haymon just told him no. No way Ortiz doesn't take the fight and Ruiz does when Haymon employs both of them.

So I see some wilder fans in here still calling it a lowball. Even ortiz and his team are not calling it a lowball. They will forever refuse to accept reality and forever blame it on Joshua and hearn.

When are the Brits on this board going to get it; Haymon is not helping DAZN sell subscriptions which could eventually lead to Haymon being out of business and more than Hearn is going to help Haymon keep the PPV model in business which affects sales of DAZN.
It would have been a great fight for the fans. And it would have meant financial security for life for Ortiz and his family.

Any boxing model that causes fighters to turn down opportunities like that is wrong and broken.

Im surprised Ortiz didn't take this fight plus considering his age it'd a fine time as any to get a nice big purse. He doesnt have many years left.

Ortiz was offered 0.5 million more than Miller. Some reports had Miller missing out more but that involved Miller fighting two additional fights that was not in the Louis offer though Hearn did include that in an alternative offer, the issue being Louis being PBC and might not be able to accept the additional fights.

I agree with you. Just a short time ago the HWT division was so hot. Now we have 3 fights that no one gives a crap about and doesn't look like we will get any truly meaningful HWT fight for another year.

Promoters and networks are essentially paying guys not to fight each other.

Exactly! All these rejected offers (Wilder, Ortiz, Kownacki), strange WBC decisions, etc. are just the result of US boxing currently being in power struggle.
It's a pity cuz it goes mainly against the interests of the fighters. I'm just surprised that all these fighters don't stand their ground when their interests collide with advisors' interests.

                  It's ridiculous.

That's why boxing sucks right now.

Wow, am actually shocked that you called it like it is here. Whether its Arum, Hearn, Haymon or oscar or whoever. This applies to them all. So kudos for putting this out there...Green K.

We're talking about a guy turning down (really Jimenez f'ing up) a chance to be a late replacement! If you want to fight the man, offer him a fight just like you offered Whyte the fight, or Miller the fight! Please keep in mind, Dillian Whyte has the same "smart" people around him as Joshua! Why didn't he accept the offer? What are those people telling him?
I didn't look at it that way. I see your point, so basically you're saying Ortiz should have been offered the fight under normal circumstances rather than it being on short notice without having a full camp to prepare. I get it.
