Comments Thread For: Joshua: Ortiz Turning Down Fight Goes Against What I Stand For

Andy Ruiz obviously wasn't Anthony Joshua's first choice to replace Jarrell Miller. Once Brooklyn's Miller failed three performance-enhancing drug tests, Joshua urged his promoter, Eddie Hearn, to make a deal with Luis Ortiz. Hearn says he ultimately offered Ortiz's handlers $7 million, by far the biggest purse of his career.

And the bigger AJ becomes in the US, the higher his next offer to Wilder.

That's what Wilder calls "betting on myself"

Meanwhile, Wilder fans are still harking back to the Wilder-fan golden age...

the $50m (100% legitimate as long as there are no details, negotiations or meetings) "offer".

In spite of Wilder being offered $120m for Breazeale and AJ

            It's actually laughable.

“I don’t know if they were trying to hold us to ransom, they wanted more out of the deal, but they turned down the offer for reasons I don’t know."

PAY King Kong! You want a last minute notice then PAY the man! You dudes made a "lucrative offer" for yourselves not Team Ortiz.

B.S. They weren't going to give him Aj. Stop kidding yourselves.

It's amazing how much talk there is about Ortiz? If he was so special, and you wanted to fight him, why didn't he get the offer instead of Miller in the first place? We're talking about a guy turning down (really Jimenez f'ing up) a chance to be a late replacement! If you want to fight the man, offer him a fight just like you offered Whyte the fight, or Miller the fight! Please keep in mind, Dillian Whyte has the same "smart" people around him as Joshua! Why didn't he accept the offer? What are those people telling him?
