I'd still love to see Eddie show the emails to clear up who was in this conversation & who wasn't & what did Ortiz actually know or didn't know.

The way things work the only person who definitely knew the exact deal was Eddie & Jorge, the promoter. Eddie says Jay was in on it to. But for some reason Ortiz is thinking its $5M instead of $7M. That tells me the promoter is taking $2M off the top & they didn't tell Ortiz the whole deal or they were all teamed up to legit make a play to get more. if he doesn't get the Wilder rematch then perhaps Ortiz should hire an attorney and sue both his manager and promoter.

The way Jay, Ortiz's manager flipped & was trying to hard to turn back time to the deal being play post Eddie coming out with details makes me think Jay was begging to keep his job with Ortiz for not telling Ortiz the whole story more than Ortiz actually was in on the milking of how much they wanted from Eddie.

But who f#cking knows. I just tend to think a 40 something mfer on borrowed time in the game with a daughter with medical issues isn't going to be playing games like a promoter & manager might be with money of this size with no ability to actually have anything guaranteed with Wilder.
Well actually according to Eddie Hearn the initial offer was for $6mil. Then Matchroom came back with a counter offer of $7mil for Luis Ortiz which his team subsequently turned down.

However, I agree with you. I believe that Jay Jimenez have been holding out on Luis Ortiz. I don't believe that King Kong was privy to any of the talks, conversations or negotiations between his team and Eddie Hearn. He was left completely out of the loop.

It seems to me that Ortiz' Promoter and manager Jay Jimenez deliberately kept King Kong in the dark by providing him with very false and misleading information. If Ortiz doesn't get a substantial offer for this Wilder rematch then he should sue both his manager and promoter.

No chance Eddie. Al Haymon said NO.

They just threw that figure out there just to see how desperate Eddie Hearn was and to squeeze as much money out of him as possible because they knew that he was in dire straits for a last minute opponent.

In addition, they knew full well in advance that they were never going to take the fight in the first place because they had been instructed not to. It was all a scam from the start.

Lastly, one would have to be a damn fool to believe that Team Ortiz would have gotten more than $10mil from Matchroom Sport and Anthony Joshua as a last minute replacement opponent. Which was why Team Ortiz priced themselves out because they knew that they were never going to get that asking price to begin with.
Hmmmm... seems like they bluffed and failed.

Quality over quantity always win, but you want to stomp on your fights!lol.

Tired of getting jerked from good fights, because promoters want to make 400 mil a year instead of say 250..greed. That's my point. Enough is never enough and the fan pays for it. Unc Bob giving us the HW 👑 Fury fighting some pork chop, Wilder fighting one of the security guards from the Staples center, and AJ is fighting Tito off the movie Turbo.

I want quality fights. These hacks need to stop playing the fans.
To be fair they did pay him. Offered 7 million. Where does it end? You talk about greed, have a word.

Ortiz is fighting Wilder next. AJs options will probably be Whyte or Pulev

I'm sure Ortiz understand English much better than people think, he understood Kaufman very well and spoke back to him during press conference.

At this point Ortiz should accept an offer of even 1/2 the alleged 7 mil offer he missed out on. I hope this happens and I hope Ortiz gets at least 5 mil but he is not in a particularly strong bargaining position now.

                      He never offered that much.

Aj vs Klit grossed around 65 mil, Klit and joshua got 13 mil. Klit was the A side for that fight. In terms of revenue Ortiz may not be worth 13 mil, but talent wise he is.
