I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he didn't even know that an AJ fight had ever been offered, let alone the size of the offer.

Do you realize what a ludicrous thing you've just said? Ortiz is a moron who wasted a life changing opportunity. But hey, let the time be the judge here.
Remember he requested $10 mil from Matchroom. However, Eddie countered with a $7 mil offer. Therefore, if he turned down $7 mil then chances are he has a back up plan to receive more than the $10 mil elsewhere.
If not he would have gone to the highest bidder. At this point, Al Haymon would do just about anything to keep his stable intact. Even if it means over inflating his fighter's purses.
Besides, Ortiz probably prefers fighting Wilder more anyway because he came very close to winning the last time. He probably feels he has a better chance of defeating Deontay than Joshua and for more money as well.

If he isn't showing the emails now I can only imagine its cuz he wants to keep them in good graces with him for Joshua's next fight.

I'd still love to see Eddie show the emails to clear up who was in this conversation & who wasn't & what did Ortiz actually know or didn't know.
The way things work the only person who definitely knew the exact deal was Eddie & Jorge, the promoter. Eddie says Jay was in on it to. But for some reason Ortiz is thinking its $5M instead of $7M. That tells me the promoter is taking $2M off the top & they didn't tell Ortiz the whole deal or they were all teamed up to legit make a play to get more.
The way Jay, Ortiz's manager flipped & was trying to hard to turn back time to the deal being play post Eddie coming out with details makes me think Jay was begging to keep his job with Ortiz for not telling Ortiz the whole story more than Ortiz actually was in on the milking of how much they wanted from Eddie.
But who f#cking knows. I just tend to think a 40 something mfer on borrowed time in the game with a daughter with medical issues isn't going to be playing games like a promoter & manager might be with money of this size with no ability to actually have anything guaranteed with Wilder.
