Jack Culcay had some successes because he's better than people think ( see Derevianchenko) and so will Canelo because I believe Canelo is better than Culkey at this stage but Culkey paid a heavy price doing so will Canelo. In the end, the fight was a chess match but Culkey couldn't connect with anything meaningful, it's a fight Andrade clearly won.
I haven't watched the whole fight and scored it. So am not dis*****g the verdict.

My point was just that Culcay did have moments against Andrade, and almost all of them were on the inside. At least from the highlights. If he couldn't keep Culcay off of him I don't know how he could do it against Canelo or GGG.

I know a lot of people feel that Andrade had a bad night but if that guy shows up against Canelo (or GGG) then he is getting battered imo.

I like a guy that can box and move (if he is lefty that's a bonus - Lara is probably my 2nd favorite fighter of this era) but Andrade just seems a little off to me. Maybe I'm wrong and I'm sure we will find out soon though. Just think he should have been more impressive the couple times he stepped up in competition.

Sulecki fight should be a great test for him.

I think thats the point. GGG jabbed him in the first fight, and still didnt get the nod. What makes him think he will.

Only MW who I think could use the jab as a primary weapon against Canelo and get the decision is Saunders. But he'd have to be at his stick and move best.

Jacobs tried to jab for a while but his jab was more of a pawing wet noodle just to check distance.

Didn’t Andrade get dropped by a jab or some bulls hit recently?

I’ve been high on Andrade for a while not but as a counter puncher, Canelo is better. He’s got a spoiler like style but I don’t quite think he’s good enough for Nelo or GGG. Love to see him prove me wrong though.

It’s a significant rise in competition for him, one that I’m not sure he realizes. I wish we’d have gotten him vs BJS to have gotten a better feel for him at MW.

I think Andrade will 'struggle' against Sulecki and then a lot of the people picking him to beat Canelo or GGG will then say he sucks. Just how it is. Only 2 live dogs Andrade has faced were Vanes and Culcay and he was hardly impressive in either fight.

I would like to see him fight GGG and Canelo though. I would really like to see him jab Canelo all night; actually I would love to see him fight the exact fight GGG fought against Canelo, just so a lot of the GGG haters can then say that Andrade won 10-2 instead of saying Canelo won those fights lol. That would be great. 90% of the posters on here are just completely tribal fan-boys and are not to be taken seriously on boxing analysis.
Andrade is more than the flavor of the month, he's peaking at the right time and very, very hard to hit flush. Watch Culcey again, by round 8-12, even knowing he's behind, Culcey isn't as willing to rush in... and when he does he takes heat.

The time to catch Andrade was at 154 because he was shrinking down to make weight.

Admittedly Canelo is better than Culcey but Andrade is also better at 160 and stronger in the later rounds.

Canelo will stay away from Saunders so I'm not sure what we could learn from that. On the other hand Maciej Sulecki will show exactly where Andrade fits in the mix. Remember, Sulecki was going tit for tat with Danny until he got caught, he's a very good test for anyone. I don't expect Andrade to blow him out because that doesn't happen at this level but I do expect him to win more convincingly.

Agreed, Sulecki will tell the story. He's better than most people think, a great test.

#1 P4P CANELO vs. Andrade for Undisputed!

CANELO is the better boxer , trying to stay on the outside just throwing jabs won't be enough to beat CANELO.

CANELO is the total package, the combination of best offense & best defense + skills + physical gifts & experience against the very best , makes him the best fighter on the planet right now.

Andrade is a very, very difficult style, he's cagey and hard to get close to and even if you slip inside he doesn't let you get off. Like Andrade or not, watch him closely and you'll notice he always takes away the inside game. Frankly Canelo might be up for it but I'm sure Oscar sees a big, more agile, fluid moving Vernon Forest, a style better off left alone.
                      Very well said!!

I completely agree, Oscar may know the danger and wants to leave Andrade for GGG. Andrade's been to innactive for my taste, he has the tools to school Canelo, but he may pull a Charlo/Jacobs and just not pull trigger on punches... His timing better be on point as well!!
