Cmon man, you know how things are around here. The anti-GGG faction is ravenous. Sure the guys never got busted for drugs/PEDs, beating a woman, or anything akin to that- but he dumped his long time trainer so he must be attacked (really anything he does they just want to attack).
Truth is its a mix of schadenfreude, tribalism, backlash to celebrity hype, and him being the best MW during a weaker era. But you know the saying, "if theyre hating you, you must be doing something right".Comment

No hate here, I just said he was done at the top.
And I disagree, I didn't see him winning either Canelo fight, but he didn't get totally outclassed like Jacobs.
Since I'm speaking on this, I feel Canelo's win over Jacobs pretty much sealed his two wins over Golovkin.
I hate the triangle theory, but let's be clear here....everybody (aside from FMJ) that stepped in the ring with Canelo simply couldn't pull the trigger as they would against anybody else...so i think it's time the boxing world gives Canelo his credit for being THE man in boxing.
Most people had GGG winning the first.
But let's stick to result, judge gave him a draw in the first Nelo fight, I'm not even contesting the results, I'm being fair play.
But if past your prime you can get a draw vs Nelo then you aren't that bad as a fighter isn't it?Comment

That is enough of a contest and to influence a man mind isn't it mister popesc?Comment

That's pretty much expected, that's your opinion, but reality is GGG beat Jacobs, and the judges gave him 12 rounds vs Canelo in both fights, and any serious person had those 24 rounds competitive and close...

On the other hand, we can't start saying GGG was "past his prime", that's ridiculous because people weren't saying that going into the first fight.
Question is, would he have been "prime" had he soundly beat Canelo in the first fight? If so, then we can't say he was past his prime because the rounds were close and it ended in a draw.
Moreover, for those who had Canelo winning (me included), can't say Golovkin was past his prime because that pretty much diminishes Canelo's W.Comment

Being that it was a draw, fans can claim the rightful winner from their point of view. Cool.

Especially with his style wich is pretty much a high volume pressure physical style.
I'm not saying that GGG was shot or too old and not a legit win for Nelo.
But he wasn't at his peak either.
My problem with yall Canelo fans is for whatever reason or maybe because yall dumbs yall downplaying and sht on GGG as a person and a fighter every chance yall got.
But GGG is Canelo best win and rivalry.
GGG is to Canelo what Hagler was to Leonard.
Yall act like GGG is Leonard's Donny Lalonde.
GGG is no angel or whatever but neither is Canelo and his clenbuterol a.ss.Comment
