Exposure! That's why they're leaving. Beterbiev's fight on ESPN the same night as the Canelo fight is going to do similar numbers, if not more.

This seems to describe Gervonta Davis well now. It feels like he's retired at age 24. Killed all his excitement. Nothing is going on in boxing.

Good luck to Haney. I hope he has good advisers around him, and not snakes and egotists.

Make Haney-Farmer at 135 now, before he completely outgrows it.

LOL good f#cking luck with that Eastern Euro guys. Foreign fighters in the US are better off taking on a funny voice like Manny & GGG. Thats been a proven road to success for foreign fighters more than anything else. Well a good offense & a funny voice & millions of dollars are yours for the taking.

Again doe the numbers that matter are years away. You're being too short sighted with this DAZN/streaming thing. This is a young market & they are already throwing out money like Kell Brook at Chippendales.

Shout out to the Brits for signing Americas best talent...Every American promoter should be ashamed right now.

Talking about what HBO's impact was in the late 80's/early 90's when Tyson was big & DAZN today makes no damn sense in these two companies trajectories. If DAZN is around & showing boxing in 2038 then talk to me about what HBO Boxing could do in the 90's vs what DAZN Boxing can do in the 2k30's.

Absolutely. But who would have predicted that early on?

And why can't DAZN have that kind of impact at some future date?

I'd argue DAZN's immediate impact on the market (not necessarily having translated to viewers yet obviously lol) is similar if not greater than HBO's was back in the day.

HBO Boxing debuted with Foreman vs Frazier & all throughout the 70's & early 80's they showed only a small number of shows a year.

Now I can't tell you what DAZN debuted with (cuz I don't remember & its probably hot garbage so I won't even bother to look it up), but they got the consensus HW champion of the world who might be the 2nd biggest boxer in the world & the most popular fighter in the world on their roster within their first year in the game along with two of the most known promotions in the world to boxing fans aligned with them. And they have probably already shown or are closing in on showing more shows in year 1 than HBO Boxing did in its first decade. You gotta admit thats a pretty solid start at this early point in the game.

Is it sustainable? Can they grow it even bigger? Who knows that sh^t at this point, but there is the possibility of success based on whats already been achieved I'd argue.

And to be clear I'm not at all saying DAZN will win. Hell I believe I just told MCC I'd bet against them succeeding long term (for boxing anyway, idk enough about the other sh^t), but I think its naive & silly to think they don't have any chance at being a player & win the game they are playing even if things aren't looking like a home run, or even a double, currently.

Sh^t is changing in boxing. Bet everything you own that the way things are now won't be the way they are in a decade. ESPN+, DAZN & PBC won't be all commanding the same power they have in boxing today as they are now in the US.

I've speculated that things could go all sorts of ways already such as DAZN & Haymon could start working together or FOX could give Haymon some crazy deal & that kills Showtime & greatly damages ESPN & DAZN. Or Bob could join DAZN if ESPN cuts him loose. Matchroom could go back to Showtime cuz that PPV money is unlimited in theory & DAZN has limits.

Things are up in the air still is what I'm saying. And its even up in the air to new emerging en****** cuz f#ck man thats exactly what DAZN was not that long ago & someone else could swoop in still cuz this streaming thing isn't at 100% yet.

The company that gets streaming to 100% are the ones who are gonna be the winners. And maybe in the boxing sphere of streaming thats PBC via Showtime &/or Fox or thats ESPN+ or yes that could even be DAZN or it could be someone who's not even in the game yet.

This sh^t ain't getting decided anytime soon. The only thing thats getting decided soon is who's not gonna win cuz we got casualties coming before anyone is wearing a crown & claiming victory or just being the main winners.

Neither was HBO at one point.
Right or wrong, I don't see the DAZN model working, especially with the change of focus in the US market versus the rollouts in other countries. Getting the rights needed to draw enough attention to maybe earn some money at some point, is going to be a Herculean task.

Will watch it unfold as it does though; luckily DAZN didn't screw the pooch and lock out the sports bars. Will tune in for Canelo-Jacobs, and Joshua-Ortiz if it gets book, but that's looking like that may be it for me. Might be tuning in for Regis Prograis' fights too.

            Enjoy the ride

My fandom is simple; give me good fights, give me competitive fights, and give me fights often, and you've got me as a watcher. Put on bull****, and I'm getting enough of a fix elsewhere to not waste my time.

For the last 5 years, it's been pretty clear where fight fans can get the best package for their fix.

Not every show is great, but the quality is better than anything anyone else is putting on, and the quantity is more than enough to satisfy. No shill needed

Haney is #3 per the WBC and with Hearn. Lopez is #4 and with Arum. I'd say this makes Haney vs Campbell far more likely since not only does Devin rank Lopez he's also now with the same promoter as Campbell. Abdullaev at #2 is (as far as I'm aware) a free agent - or at least has no presence outside of Russia -probably Bob should be trying to get his manager on the phone.
