These young guys are so quick and impatient, someone throws money at them and they jump. He should look at Bud Crawford and Lomachenko situation and take some notes, he will not be a superstar fighting on a App, where no one is looking. He will regret listening to his dad and making this move

And he's the only one that most folks will get the chance to see fight.

Talking about what HBO's impact was in the late 80's/early 90's when Tyson was big & DAZN today makes no damn sense in these two companies trajectories. If DAZN is around & showing boxing in 2038 then talk to me about what HBO Boxing could do in the 90's vs what DAZN Boxing can do in the 2k30's.
It got to the point that, if you were any kind of boxing, you needed to have HBO.
And why can't DAZN have that kind of impact at some future date?
I'd argue DAZN's immediate impact on the market (not necessarily having translated to viewers yet obviously lol) is similar if not greater than HBO's was back in the day.
HBO Boxing debuted with Foreman vs Frazier & all throughout the 70's & early 80's they showed only a small number of shows a year.
Now I can't tell you what DAZN debuted with (cuz I don't remember & its probably hot garbage so I won't even bother to look it up), but they got the consensus HW champion of the world who might be the 2nd biggest boxer in the world & the most popular fighter in the world on their roster within their first year in the game along with two of the most known promotions in the world to boxing fans aligned with them. And they have probably already shown or are closing in on showing more shows in year 1 than HBO Boxing did in its first decade. You gotta admit thats a pretty solid start at this early point in the game.
Is it sustainable? Can they grow it even bigger? Who knows that sh^t at this point, but there is the possibility of success based on whats already been achieved I'd argue.
And to be clear I'm not at all saying DAZN will win. Hell I believe I just told MCC I'd bet against them succeeding long term (for boxing anyway, idk enough about the other sh^t), but I think its naive & silly to think they don't have any chance at being a player & win the game they are playing even if things aren't looking like a home run, or even a double, currently.
DAZN is nowhere near that, and will likely never be that due to Al Haymon having the deepest talent pool, 40 some-odd fight dates and 25 prime ones, $120m+ per year, the support to run at least 4 PPV events a year, and the actual contact reach to the masses through Showtime/CBS and Fox Sports (FOX/ FS1).'
I've speculated that things could go all sorts of ways already such as DAZN & Haymon could start working together or FOX could give Haymon some crazy deal & that kills Showtime & greatly damages ESPN & DAZN. Or Bob could join DAZN if ESPN cuts him loose. Matchroom could go back to Showtime cuz that PPV money is unlimited in theory & DAZN has limits.
Things are up in the air still is what I'm saying. And its even up in the air to new emerging en****** cuz f#ck man thats exactly what DAZN was not that long ago & someone else could swoop in still cuz this streaming thing isn't at 100% yet.
The company that gets streaming to 100% are the ones who are gonna be the winners. And maybe in the boxing sphere of streaming thats PBC via Showtime &/or Fox or thats ESPN+ or yes that could even be DAZN or it could be someone who's not even in the game yet.
This sh^t ain't getting decided anytime soon. The only thing thats getting decided soon is who's not gonna win cuz we got casualties coming before anyone is wearing a crown & claiming victory or just being the main winners.
DAZN simply isn't a must-own proposition, and this doesn't change that.

fans flip-flopping per usual I see. But might I ask, why is it now an idea that Haney should get a shot at the wbc strap, before Teofimo? Is it just because of the Eddie Hearn connection with Luke Campbell? Is there another reason I'm unaware of?

Good move for Devin IMO. My favorite part of the DAZN cards is watching the prospects. If it’s a short deal (3-4 fights) it’ll get him up the rankings, and some exposure since they like having their prospects fight often on the undercards.
