  • These words are gonna haunt Sanchez forever. He would have looked so much better if he went about this completely different.

He won't get hired by another top fighter which really doesn't matter because not too long along he was talking about retiring in a few years.

If anything he's making himself look greedy. Guys like Freddie, Floyd Sr. & The Reynosos get paid flat fees for their work and they've worked with the highest earning fighters in the sport. Abel must have thought he was special to still get a percentage.

Don't know if it's related or not but Joe Joyce left Abel too. His two best fighters. Don't be surprised all the guys who are usually at your gym stop showing up

One thing to consider: How do we know GGG wasn't OVERPAYING Abel in the 1st place ? I'm not saying that was definitely the case but you have to at least consider it.

Abel never complained about what he was making before. Which means he was happy with what he was getting. He was being paid on a percentage. That's fine and dandy when G was making 1 and 2 million purses but when G made bank in those Canelo fights Abel did too.

The fact that he keeps mentioning G's 100million deal seems to show that he expected to get paid even more that what he was making.

Trainers get paid their worth. Not based on what the fighter is making. At the end if the day the fighter is the one risking his health & life & the trainer works for them

        • This is sad. Although I dont think Abel was that good for Gennady anymore, see it ends like this makes me sad... and over money out of all other things.

If he had any wit he would never have started with Abel in the first place.
GGG will have another coach soon enough looking for that 2 million.

the bolded part. what does abel do for him to feel he deserve to keep his current pay? a draw against canelo then a loss to canelo and abel even admitted that canelo won and he expect ggg to reward him? dont be ******!

              • Who the hell told Abel he’s

The best trainer in the world anyway. If he received 10% from the time he’s worked with GGG then he’s made a couple million for telling him things he already knew and any trainer would have been honored to do. I still see the same straight up fighter with great power but no real change in style or development so -uck Abel!

                    • Don't know what Golovkin did here. He should just have ended Sanchez's services and changed trainer. No big deal.

Why would you hire the same trainer for significantly less money? How do you supposed the resulting relationship would look like? Abel would most likely be rooting for you to lose each time you fight.
