That's the mystery! If same as they offered miller or more then Ortiz is ducking and if less AJ is the duck.
We will soon find out the truth.
still can't believe the nerve of AJ nuthuggers wanting Ortiz to accept less than fat bum miller

I even thought Miller was being overpaid at $6.5. because other than maybe a little help at the gate, he really brought very little to the dance. This is the Joshua show. Hearn probably doesnt care if they end up fighting a dummy. Might even prefer it. So Ortiz needs to accept the realities of the situation.
Tend to agree. Is what it is.

Hearn can lowball ANYONE in this situation to lower his risk money-wise & threat to Joshua-wise. Ortiz can feel like he deserves more cuz he's arguably the 4th best guy in the division & could win a belt at some future date with or without this fight. And Hunter or Ruiz (or whoever got the fight) are happy to be in the discussion let alone to land the fight so they'd take even a lowball offer & lowball rematch agreement happily. And a more bs opponent is more likely to create a highlight reel KO on Sunday morning that more people see + on the business side it gives Hearn a worse case bottom that they can see that Joshua is capable of in the US to build off of & envision how good things can get here as they build the US hype machine for Joshua.

Yeah he should get the same exact deal at this point. I'm sure they'd try to save a mill or two though if they could get away with it hoping he'd take the offer. I know I'd start lower and hope he would bite then if he came back with a bigger number, make the fight and maybe still save some money they were gonna pay Miller.

The tickets have already been sold, I guess it doesn't matter to them who the opponent is anymore.

        • If Hearn offered anything less then the 6.5mil miller was allegedly suppose to make he lied about whoever they replaced for miller would get the same deal... only one way to know though release the emails let us see for ourselves, then again he could be lying and instead of saying Ortiz declined not enough time on short notice to properly train for a fight of that magnitude came with the low ball stuff

          • Eddie will go down in history as the worst match maker in history.
Couldnt even make a fight between 2 of his own fighters (AJ , Whyte).

The only people he wants to throw decent money at are the easiest bums he can find, like Miller and charles martin.

            • I guess Eddy sees now, throwing money at the problem wasn't the answer. He regrets the day he offered Big Baby $6.6 mil, now there's blood in the water.

              • Bottom line is that if Hearn really did make a lowball offer, Hearn and also Joshua take a real hit in the credibility department. The perception of most fans is that of all the possible opponents Ortiz is the only real threat (this is not my take). Making a lowball offer to Ortiz, if that is what happened, will have exactly the opposite effect that Joshua's US debut was supposed to have.

Personally I doubt (just my opinion) that the offer was less than $2 million. Hearn wouldnt want a leaked email on the websites showing some clown offer of $750k or something ******. He would have to had started the conversation at least at $2 mil. Obviously this "Dade Promotions" outfit is looking for a lottery ticket. Unfortunately for them, this isnt it. (unless they took the fight and Ortiz won, THEN its a lottery ticket for the rematch)
i dont usually agree with terry the dumby...but i agree with alot of what he said

-hearn might prefer him fighting a dummy
                  -miller was being overpaid
-its the aj show...doesnt matter if its miller, ortiz or the fed ex guy

                  all true

cept one thing...hearn set the market value for the opponent in this fight...its the AJ show...his american debut....but hearn set the market value for this fight......whether hes overpaying or it matters who the other guy is or not...ortiz is just as known as miller....and actually is more credible to the hardcores...thus he brings nothing to suggest he deserves less than the market value that hearn set here

ortiz fought a top 3 HW in NYC and it was a FOTY candidate....and he was ranked above miller everywhere...he dont deserve a penny less

This right here is all that needs to be said.

Pretty sure Ortiz was offered 1.5 mill at the lowest and 3.5 mill at the highest. I doubted the 6 millie that Big Baby was going to get would go to a late replacement. Hell, the promotional tour is done and damn near the majority of the tix were ALREADY sold. Oh well. Looks like AJ vs whoever and Wilder vs whoever got ktfo by AJ, is next.

                    • I'm just wondering what Ortiz has done to be sitting there turning down HW title shots due to lowball offers?

Win the goddamn fight and things would change. Seems to have no interest in really winning, just getting paid the Haymon extra to lose to Wilder, just like Mikey
